"Not Tom McClintock, or most decent conservatives for that matter." I find it hard to relate to someone who didn't have at least some youthful indescretions, whether it was sex, drinking, smoking pot, whatever. Citizens who have seen the error of their ways usually make the best leaders. I didn't say that I had not gotten drunk or tipped over trash cans as a youth, but that's a far cry from the kind of depravity discussed in the above article.

Thanks Jim, I'm tired of people now trying to dig up all the dirt on Arnold they can find. He's probably the only chance we have here in California to make it through this mess!!
Those of us that live here and don't want our land annexed with Mexico and don't want to PAY MORE TAXES don't want Bustamante as our Governor. A lot have already decided to leave if that happens, we cannot fight any more.

This post wasn't placed on this forum by democats. If you've been on the forum for the last few days, you know who it was posted by. Today ABC reports that McClintock is at 11% and Schwarzenegger is at 45%. Now you figure out if we have anything to lose by this type of post and tactics continuing on this forum?
To: Vladivostok
Hear, hear.
What's worse than doing something questionable? LYING about it. Arnold should just take it head on. People respect honesty.
To: Chantal
I don't know and I don't care.
'77 has no bearing on this election - unless he has not changed, which I see no evidence of.
I am more concerned about his stances now.
But then I am just an idiot and a social conservative who is destroying the world! lol
I see shrills on both side.

A standard line from liberals against conservatives is they want a man in power who, um, has a healthy sex life.
Concern answered with Arnold.
To: Porterville
So he was a kid in the 70's, what was Bustamonte doing??? Huffington???? Davis???? The answer is the same for each.
Bustamonte was and is trying to annex the southwest into Mexico, trying to tear apart a nation, to bring 1/4 of the US into a third world country. He needs to be exposed, big time. Forget Arnolds exposure, he wanted to join the US not annex 1/4 of with out their permission!!!!! Expose bustamonte!

Schwarzenegger open and honest and has changed.
Has this been settled?
One of the errors in jumping early on the Arnold bandwagon is that one had to ignore that there are a lot of similar questions about Schwarzenegger's personal life which persist to this day.
Better to have waited, to see what might shake loose during the course of the campaign.

Arnold is rough around the edges, but that might just be what we need in SacrementoI understand your frustration at the Employee Unions, the Marxist Legislatureect and that is fine. But this is the WRONG battlefield to be fighting THEM on. That article is quite disgustingly vulger, and I'm a young guy so it takes alot to be offended these days. More importantly, trying to blow it off compromises Conservatives. You want him in there, fine, but don't rationalize this, and if some Demo brings it up, give ground because you have to. Its something he can do some mea culpas and be forgiven about and it forgotten, but DON'T MAKE EXCUSES FOR IT BEFORE THEN BECAUSE YOU WANT HIM IN POWER. That is very bad, from a precident standpoint, as well as an intellectually consistent one.
Lets just pretend this never was published, but if its brought up, never say its ok to do what he did with that girl.

I am making no such judgments on his past.
G_d knows I have needed forgiveness more than once.
My stance is on him today - this hit piece gets no applause from me.

The "LOL" was intended to alert you that this was a joke. Sorry if it didn't come across clearly. What I meant by my post was: don't you want to wait until closer to the election, view the landscape at that time, and then weigh your decision against the developments? What if the Dems scare up a phony business scandal or tax scandal against McClintock at the last minute, (which he doesn't have time to debunk) like they did with Simon? What would you do if the race really IS between just Arnold and Cruz?

They're exposing him on FOX... I was suprised that even FOX was brave enough to call a racist democrat pig a racist democrat pig.

I see shrills on both side.
There's a lot o' that going around, with cries of "Unelectable! You must 'want' Bustamante!" competing with "Rino Schwarzenkennedy baby-killer sellout!" Fortunately, that hasn't much spread to the candidates themselves (has it??).

Conservatism is dead. This thread has convinced me of that.
My past isn't lily white but after reading that article I wanted to throw up. Arnold is disgusting.

I agree -- that's why Arnold needs to drop out. And as a Californian, I can tell you that Simon did not lose because of his conservative idealogy, he lost because Davis spent $10 million bucks on commercials calling him a crook. The charges were not even true. What's going to happen when the Dems go after Arnold? They won't even have to make stuff up.
To: section9
I do not agree with what you say. His language used in the Playboy interview in 1988 was Clintonian: it gave him an out if you consider pot and hash to be less than "drugs" (speed, coke, heroin, barbituates). PLAYBOY: What about other drugs; have you done them?
SCHWARZENEGGER: Never in my entire life. When I came to America, someone gave me a drug like speed. He told me it would make me sharper and I'd lose weight. But I lost muscle tone. It was like having a hard-on that's not hard, that is half limp. I don't like that. I like to feel fully pumped. I threw the pills away. Nor has anyone so much as smoked a joint when I was there. Or sniffed coke. Or taken any drugs. In Hollywood, I have never seen any drugs on the set or anywhere. It could be because people know me well enough to know that I don't want anything like that. I'm around actors all the time -- and I've worked with them in Mexico, on jungle locations where you'd think it might happen just to pass the time -- and I've never seen it.

Jim wasn't siding with you or Arnold. He was siding with the decent standards where this kind of thing is considered revolting. Now if we could only ban the pervert from the Governor's office.
