Michael Moore is trying to tie Bush to bin Laden! His film is scheduled to be released in 2004, in the middle of the campaign! And Disney's Miramax is reportedly financing this hit piece!
Of course we must boycott Disney and Miramax. But letters (hard copy ones, ones they have to hold in their hands and look at) are another effective way of getting the message out that America doesn't want Michael Moore's Bush-bashing films in their marketplace!!
Here are some contact numbers and street addresses to mail your letters to.
Please remember: the person who answers the phone may have NO IDEA what you're talking about...they're mainly receptionists and communication specialists who're trained to forward messages and calls. Don't abuse them. And don't abuse the reader(s) of your letters! But be firm and matter of fact--you do not think this decision is wise.
If you're a stockholder, maybe you'll want to sell your stock. If you're a parent, maybe you won't rush out to buy "Treasure Island" for your kid. (Not that you would anyway! ha ha) If you're a grandparent, maybe you won't take the grandkids to DisneyWorld after all. Whatever. Disney's tentacles are so long and reach so far I cannot imagine anyone not having some connection to the company. Even ABC is owned by Disney.
Remember: Disney's subsidiary MIRAMAX is financing the movie, so you can contact BOTH companies. The head of Miramax is a guy named Harvey Weinstein.
Here are the addresses and numbers...and here's to a good FREEPing!

I am not being negative I am being realistic. Apparantly you know nothing about the Weinstein bros, the history of Miramax or the people running Disney for that matter.
I for one do not "sit" and complain. I boycott with my pocketbook. You are not dealing with people who worry about profits. The movie industries "profits" are built in. What you are dealing with are people who will relish an organized boycott....it gives them exposure. If Disney were so worried about "middle americans" do you think they would openly support their gay employees with things like "Pride Day"
How "clueless" and "delusional" can one person be....don't know never been there.

I sure someone just like you stood at Kiddy Hawk telling the Wright Brothers that they will make nothing out of their flying machine. The FreeRepublic is bigger then those little boys. I have seen the affect this group has when we pull together and attack. We can beat them. You need to spend some time with the DC Chapter. We are small but we have done great things.

I will not even argue with you any longer about whether or not I am negative, it apparantly does no good. "We can beat them".....this film will beat itself, it'll be just enough rope to hang Moore. Have fun with the boycott.
Maybe while you're at it you could boycott something that really matters up there in DC....the RINO's in the Senate!!!

Many of you have been guilty (unknowingly I'm sure) of doing exactly what Moore does. You have inferred that because there are Gay days at Disney therefore Disney sponsors them.
This is from AllEars.Net:
Gay Weekend in Orlando - June 3- 9 - This is NOT a Disney Sponsored Event! For the last several years, the first weekend in June is known as Gay Weekend in Orlando. A complete schedule of events is usually announced late winter. Each day, a different theme park in Orlando is designated as that "park day". The only thing I would strongly suggest is NOT to go to the Magic Kingdom on the Saturday of the event. For details visit: http://www.gaydays.com/
I'm a bible-thumping discerning Christian. Just because a Disney subsidiary release The Priest doesn't mean I can't enjoy Dumbo or go to DW for vacation. It means I don't watch The Priest or go to DW the 1st week in June.
Geez...

I was at the rally to stop the obstruction. I went up to the side of Frist and told him to remember the base and the Constitution. He nodded his head yes but we will see.

Miramax sources stop short of saying the studio will be the pic's distributor. France-based the Wild Bunch is aboard to sell distribution. You forgot a player in this alleged pre-production of Fahrenheit 911. Moore admitted he
did not have all the answers yet to write this film. Difficult to mastermind a film documentary, if you are shy of the prime facts.
I see reference on here to "sabotage and do whatever is necessary" to stop production of such a film. One might worry that Moore's camp could set up conservative 'activists' for the purpose of free national publicity and for the sake of film developement with words such as those. I can see it now. Moore's film trailer with: The film Bush and conservatives did not want YOU to see! This is how, Moore commented recently, his book rose to #1 after all the publicity it received from 'conservative activists'. I believe he is using the same tactics for Fahrenheit 911.
Just my opinion,

Yes but it is important never to engage in a dialectic with marxists. Have the facts but don't dwell on them. Simply say Moore is wrong. The marxists can't be debated, but they have to be refuted as vigorously as they attack. I have a friend, an Oscar-winner himself, who essentially cuts-and pastes information from Moore's website and mass-mails it to people within our circle. This puts me in the position of having to refute two Oscar winners (and unfortunately, here in Los Angeles, that silly statue still brings instant clout and credibility). If I'm going to refute these allegations, I'm going to need more than poise. I'm going to need facts.
The same goes for everyone else. When Farenheit 911 is released, the media is going to fall all over itself to praise it. They'll do everything in their power to lend credibility to Moore's thesis. We have to be ready for that.
Moore needs to be attacked more than Bush defended. Was Moore at the ANSWER rallies? Did the sponsors of those rallies receive any money from Iraq? Why does Moore support the Worker's World party? What is his income? Why doesn't he release his tax forms?
Aside from the first point (I don't believe Bush needs to be defended so much as the truth needs to be told), I agree 100%. Hit back, hit harder. Moore needs to be pounded into submission. Personally, professionally, intellectually. If he wants a fight, we need to give him one that he can't handle.
The beauty of it is, unlike Moore, we don't need to lie, distort and manipulate in order to do it. The truth is on our side. Let's use it to destroy the bastard.

I can't stand Michael Moore, but SOMEONE needs to expose the Bush administration for the fraud that it is. I voted for Bush, and spent much of the late 90's on FreeRepublic bashing Clinton, but after 9-11 and our illegal invasion of Iraq, I wish to God that Clinton was still president!

Of course you didn't. You didn't think they would actually be interested in your opinion did you?
To: Tacis
Good. Or just keep it plain dollars and sense. I would suggest something like:
The content of Mr. Moore's proposed project is not consistent with the values espoused by the company. Moreover, the audience that would be receptive to the hostile, defamatory message against President Bush simply does not represent a sufficiently adequate market to justify funding in the amounts requested by Mr. Moore.

EXCELLENT POINTS!
To: Beck_isright
Since I already boycott disney, how do I double boycott them?
Simple - call your broker and sell the stock short. If enough people do this, it causes the price of disney stock to go down (more sellers than buyers). But beware, you lose money if the stock price increases.
To: Recovering_Democrat
Let them do it....let them spend their money and lose credibility. I'd rather attack them on their innacuracies than try to stop them from doing it. If we have nothing to be worried about, why would we worry? It makes them look small and desperate. Screw em.

On
Instapundit an intriguing point has been raised. Is Fahrenheit 911 in danger of violating McCain-Feingold, especially if, as seems likely, it's targeted to be released at the height of the campaign in '04.
