NYC Supports the Troops, the U.S.A. and President Bush - 3/23/03
Posted on 03/23/2003 12:56:52 PM PST by NYC GOP Chick
We got to Times Square shortly before noon, and there were well over 1000 patriotic people there! We started out up front, but my dad was uncomfortable and we kept going back and back and back and back... Therefore the only speaker photos I have are of the lady from the Christian Coalition and a couple of FReepers.
By the time we left, there were at *least* close to 3000 flag-waving, "USA! USA! USA!"-chanting patriots squeezed into the area near the ticker tape in Times Square.
I didn't see any other threads on this, so I apologize if this is a duplicate.

I am going out of my mind! AAGGhhhhh!! {{{{{pulling hair out}}}}}
I have successfully put pics on line thru WebShots, but this time I'm doing something wrong and I'm dead ending. (I am able to unload them to my documents with Camedia, but there they sit!) I tried going directly from there to here, but no go. I tried using the img src= thingy, but I get an empty icon. After 5 hours, I've given up!
At any rate, it was a great day! Soooooo many flags, and wonderful people who love and support this country. We were jammed packed, sang off key, lost our cadence in the spirited chants, but that was OK, we all had a wonderful unifying time.
It was nice to see Bret Schundler again and he gave a rousing, booming talk. I have some good pictures of him IF ONLY I COULD PRINT THEM HERE!
Nice to see so many Freepers! I think, next time I'm going to have a TALL poster with Fr.Com on it, so we can all gather together. Also -- since so many people want to know how to get on line with us, I think I will print out some copies of the home page, and show them how to reach the meaty sections of Fr.com, and how to register. Telling them is just not clear enough.
When I was leaving, I went up to several of the police officers to thank them for being there. One called to me ----Thank you!

I missed it too, but vehicle is in need of repair, I have been missing too much church on Sundays, and I am unemployed again, cant afford to keep doing these right now.
I am so upset that this was a HUGE Freep and I missed it!!

which should really improve picture quality for the next rally. :D I'll look forward to the next batch then, too, and thanks ahead of time! :-)

Telling them is just not clear enough. Great idea! I tried to recruit a few new FReepers at our last two rallies up here in CT. It can be difficult though, without "props" like a printout of the home page, etc.
I'm still thrilled by all the positive coverage your rally got today - both local and NATIONAL. BRAVO to all of you!

Way to go New York FReepers !
We had a good turnout at the Pro-America Rally in Dallas Saturday, despite the cool weather and the rain. The AP reported an estimated 3,000, but it was more likely DOUBLE that! It was GREAT!
The reports are bookmarked on my profile page or see them Here ! and Here !
we now return to our regularly scheduled programming . . .

I need to get to work, but here's a quick note on your photos. You need to load the photos onto a site that will
host them and then put the link to the photos in the
<img src thingy.
There are some places that will host them for free (but they don't allow unlimited photos) but are good for what
you need.
Log onto this site WWW.COMMUNITY.WEBSHOTS.COM and set up an account for free. Load your pictures from your computer
to their site.
Then view your pictures on there. When viewing your
picture on their site, click on properties and get the
URL of the photo. Put that URL in the img src statement.
That should work. I'm sure another Freeper knows more
than I do.
