NYC Supports the Troops, the U.S.A. and President Bush - 3/23/03
Posted on 03/23/2003 12:56:52 PM PST by NYC GOP Chick
We got to Times Square shortly before noon, and there were well over 1000 patriotic people there! We started out up front, but my dad was uncomfortable and we kept going back and back and back and back... Therefore the only speaker photos I have are of the lady from the Christian Coalition and a couple of FReepers.
By the time we left, there were at *least* close to 3000 flag-waving, "USA! USA! USA!"-chanting patriots squeezed into the area near the ticker tape in Times Square.
I didn't see any other threads on this, so I apologize if this is a duplicate.

Last picture in this reply: Guy in the black hat is a freeper. Next to him, in the red jacket, is the CNN Radio guy, who covered practically the entire rally.

You were all fantastic. My heroes.
Let's not forget Ronn Torossian when thanking the people who helped us. If you're reading this, Ronn, big globs of gratitude to you!

Sixth picture down is Roberta Combs, national president of the Christian CoalitionAre you sure, lol? If I didn't know better I would swear it's you.

I saw that too but my point is...she was not brave enough to show her face at the rally!!

I have lots more too! I'll load them out later or tomorrow.
We need a big Free Republic sign though. I had no idea where to find the Freepers.
I guess I should have known they would be the ones with
the bullhorns! LOL..

My three big FR signs got blown into a puddle while I was trying to hold everything together at the beginning of the rally. I would have put them up even in their sorry-looking state, but I never had time.
StarFan, keep reading. Roberta is the next one.

My only regret was that ungrateful bitch Mexican immigrant Maria Hinjoshana (or whatever her name is) from CNN was nowhere to be found (she covers all the peace demonstrations for CNN and was in NY yesterday).. Teehehe me thinks you owe her an apology or else her 'imposter' did a good job reporting it on CNN around 6:00 p.m.

Thanks so much for all your work putting the rally together today, it was incredible and your speeches were fantastic!
And thanks for the pictures, NYC GOP Chick... I pulled out my camera when we got there and found my batteries had died. Thanks to you I have a full set anyways :-)

We need a big Free Republic sign though. I had no idea where to find the Freepers. Exit 148 was smart. She wore a nametag with EXIT 148 on it and Freerepubic.com beneath the name. Great idea. Easy to pick up and easy to make. I will try to remember that for next time.

I brought my folks and when we were still a block down on our way to the rally, I saw a firetruck cross the intersection ahead of us. When I heard the roar of support, I knew I was heading in the right direction LOL
My father asked if I were sure it was our pro-troops rally... I told him just look for an ocean of flags :-)

Someone needs to make a list of all the freepers who attended today and from what states. This way we can start collating the pictures, e mails, ping lists, etc. for future reference and events.
