Free Republic

Posted on 03/18/2003 6:51:02 PM PST by Jim Robinson
To All Posters of Articles, News, and Announcements, etc:
For the duration of the war on Iraq, we would like to reserve the "Breaking News" category for news items that are pertaining to truly breaking news stories. Please post other news stories to Front Page, Editorial, Extended, or News categories as appropriate.
For the time being, please post announcements or news of rallies, chapter events, radio shows, TV shows and other items that are normally allowed in breaking news to Activism, Announcements, Free Republic, News, State categories, etc., as appropriate.
Please try to keep vanity posts or personal posts to a minimum or post them to the appropriate topics in the General Interest forum.
(notice that I did not post this announcement in breaking news)
Thanks very much for your continued support in this effort to keep our news forum focused on the news and for making Free Republic the premier conservative news forum on the planet.
Jim

Actually, if you want to debate the issue, please take it offline and go to private email so as not to disrupt the thread any longer.

Re:
"...if one is a true Christian..." While you're at the pulpit - what is the difference between a christian and a true christian?
Are you implying this is a holy war?

Trust me when I say this:
I have zero nil nada zilch interest in debating you on this or any other subject.

May I make a suggestion?
Break out the "News" and "Activism" sections seperately on a permanent basis. Often I want to see what activism happened the prior days or weekends and it would be easier if it was its own category.

Take it somewhere else.
To: Cribb
I am not 'at the pulpit'. Do you always try to degrade any staunch Christian that dares to speak his mind and exult God over all?
There is no difference between being a Christian, a true Christian or a born-again Christian. Christians follow Christ above all else. If one has not made that commitment then one is not a Christian. Bush has apparently made that commitment, therefor he would agree service to Christ first, service to America second. In Bush's case, in this war, it is my opinion that the two are not at odds. And no, this is not a holy war, but everything that the Christian does should be to serve God...but Christians know that 'should' and actual performance rarely match up....we all fall short of what we are suppose to do.
Want to discuss it further, private mail me.

I was thinking the same thing this afternoon. I looked at the breaking news list and it was an alphabet soup of junk. Thanks for stepping in.
