HELP KEEP THE LIGHTS ON: JOIN THE FREEPATHON AND SUPPORT OUR SITE !!!
First Quarter '03 FReepathon Now Underway

.... ...

The Free Republic first quarter '03 FReepathon is now underway!

Our goal for this fundraiser is the same as last quarter: $65,000. We have about $4,000 per month coming in from monthly donors so we will need to raise approx $53,000 to hit the target.

The funds raised through these fundraisers are used to pay our operating costs. Free Republic operates on an approximate $260,000 annual budget (breakdown here) and all funds are provided by donations from FReepers and Lurkers.

Thank you all very much for your continued support.

P.S. We are planning to make FreeRepublic.com email addresses available as a thank you to all who donate at least once per year. This new feature should be ready to go within a few days. We will post a notice and a link for donors to setup their FR email address as soon as it's ready.

Donate to FR and help us keep the lights on for the best political forum on the NET!

Did I hear the commentator say "when so and so drops back, it looks like a jail break" (about Tampa Bay)? LOL

NormsRevenge--God willing......there will always be a FREE REPUBLIC! And yes, THANK YOU GOD for helping VNS to become extinct.

Mo1---You will please note that I am NOT saying.....NEENER, NEENER....NEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE-NER!

Perhaps, after the next game, we should ask for donations in honor of your pick for the winner of the Super Bowl? For example......donate $10 in honor of the Tampa Bay Bucs

How many times can you subtract 6 from 30?

As many times as you want, but you'll get 24 every time?

Anyone else--before I give the answer or confirm the answer already given by chnsmok?

They could post their donations for a certain team for a certain period of time.

If there was someone who could keep track of the donations made for each team.....you could do it all next week....announce the FR winner on ....? Friday? Or Saturday? On this thread..........

OR .......set up a separate thread and keep it in breaking news for Super Bowl Donations to FR---because you couldn't guarantee that the display thread bomb would hit often enough to get people to participate? You could have all the 'DONATE' links active on the separate thread?

I'm just brainstorming here.......

ANSWER TO PUZZLE

How many times can you subtract 6 from 30?

chnsmok....you were almost there--in fact so close, you got it.

You can subtract 6 from 30 ONLY ONE TIME...because the next time you subtract 6, you are subtracting from 24.

Wouldn't be hard to keep track because the posts are archived. This thread could be used, just tell the donors they need to post that they gave whatever for what team. Or say, 5 dollars of their donation went to a certain team to keep a big donor from skewing the result. 5 or 10 dollars a vote.

~~~Like giving Silly Putty to new parents. ~~~
WE, as the delightful grandparents we are, gave OUR grandchildren something called "SLIME". You throw it at a window--or any flat surface......and it 'rolls' down the window.....sliming its way to the bottom.
And these were OUR children we blessed with the clean-up from this gift! Baybacks are a pitch!
