President Donald Trump is reportedly considering firing U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi in recent days but publicly praised her performance after the report surfaced, as congressional scrutiny over the Justice Department’s handling of Jeffrey Epstein case files intensifies, according to The New York Times.
Trump has floated Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lee Zeldin as a possible replacement but has not made a final decision, the Times reports.
The deliberations over Bondi’s future intersect with mounting bipartisan pressure on the Justice Department to fully release materials related to the sex offender Epstein, placing the attorney general at the center of an escalating political and legal fight.
Reacting to the report from the Times, the White House sent a comment to Newsweek from Trump, saying, “Attorney General Pam Bondi is a wonderful person and she is doing a good job.”
Bondi’s allies highlighted photos of her traveling with the president on Wednesday to the Supreme Court as pushback against the firing speculation, per the Times.
The outlet also reports that Trump has complained about Bondi's Justice Department not prosecuting his enemies and her communication deficiencies, citing people who have spoken to him recently.
Bondi faces a House Oversight Committee subpoena to testify on her department's Epstein investigation, with her deposition set for April 14.

On top of that, Newsweek cites the New York Slimes as their source, making the claim even less likely to be true.
I’m not commenting on Bondi’s performance, which I cannot evaluate whether she is doing a good job or not However, Trump does keep his cards close to his vest and will publicly praise you will planning to replace you. You learn to do that in the business world.

Kicking ass? Have we seen one indictment regarding vote cheating in the 2020 battleground states? Ruby Freeman and her daughter Shay continue to walk free. How about the Biden White House cocaine scandal?
Then there’s the obviously coordinated plan by FBI and capitol police to create a false flag riot on Jan. 6th to prevent the election from being challenged in Congress. How about indictments of Letetia James, Alvin Bragg and Fanni Willis, and how about a REAL investigation into the Butler assassination attempt? The screw ups were just too numerous to have happened by chance alone, which means planning among higher ups in our government occurred.
And how about charges against Ilhan Omar for immigration fraud? That should be an easy one. The fraud is out in the open. Or indictments of Keith Rllison and Tim Walz for their complicity in the Somali fraud scandals? In the case of the last two, I’d be able to buy the “these sort of indictments take time” argument if we’d seen even the slightest progress on the cases mentioned above. But - nothing.
And I haven’t even mentioned the whole Biden Crime family enterprise with Hunter selling access and influence over our foreign policy in exchange for money.
But other than that I guess she’s doing a pretty good job

Where is the “mounting bipartisan pressure on the Justice Department” to pursue the really important criminals who executed Arctic Frost, Crossfire Hurricane, Mar a Lago Raid, bogus impeachments, Jack Smith, etc?

If Trump fires her, I’m sure he will give her some face saving position like he did with Noem (and Waltz, for that matter). In Waltz’s case it may have ended up being a parallel move or even a promotion.
