Former President Trump went after Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine (R) for vetoing a proposed ban on gender-affirming health care for transgender minors Saturday.
“DeWine has fallen to the Radical Left,” Trump said in a Truth Social post. “No wonder he gets loudly booed in Ohio every time I introduce him at Rallies, but I won’t be introducing him any more. I’m finished with this ‘stiff.’ What was he thinking. The bill would have stopped child mutilation, and prevented men from playing in women’s sports. Legislature will hopefully overturn. Do it FAST!!!”
The bill, House Bill 68, also had the aim of preventing transgender women and girls from competing as part of female school sports teams.
The Ohio governor said Friday he had spent the last two weeks since the bill was delivered to him on a “fact-finding mission,” saying he traveled to the Buckeye State and talked to medical professionals and the families of transgender children. He also said he talked to those who are against treatments such as puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy.
“These are truly complex issues, and reasonable people draw vastly different conclusions,” DeWine said during a press conference Friday. “This bill would impact a very small number of Ohio’s children, but for those children who face gender dysphoria, and for their families, the consequences of this could not be more profound.”
“Ultimately, I believe this is about protecting human life,” DeWine added. “Many parents have told me that their child would not have survived — would be dead today — if they had not received the treatment they received from one of Ohio’s children’s hospitals.”
“I cannot sign this bill as is currently written,” DeWine said, “and just a few minutes ago, I vetoed the bill.”
I don't think Trump will start waffling on this, but I don't know that he can explain the details. He's not good at that. If you listen to DeWine you will think he was just following the "experts" when he vetoed the bill. Republicans who are on the conservative side need to be able to hit back at that idiocy. I don't know if this will even be a major issue in the 2024 race, but if it is, the media/Democrat line will be that Trump is against "science". Trump probably won't have an answer to that.
DeWine was one of McCain’s butt-boys when he was in the Senate.

There’s a post on zerohedge stating that he took $40K in contributions from pro-trans hospitals.

For $40,000, Dewine sold out the troubled youth to a lifetime of expensive medical treatment.

The winning issue on this matter is women’s sports scholarships at universities.
The curious phrasing in the article, trying to rebut Trump, was

That is curious phrasing. What does “had the aim” mean? Did it explicitly forbid transgender women or girls from competing on women or girls’ sports teams or not?

Actually the suicide increase is after the surgery not before! After the surgery the person finds they haven’t solved their problem. What they did to themselves is irrevocable and they have a lifetime of various drug cocktails to take. A collapse into suicidal depression is understandable.
DeWine has simply demonstrated he’s too mentally challenged to be governor.
Although I don’t doubt that DeWine would do it, what is he running for.
He is term limited for the Governor’s office and he has no chance at the Presidency.
I don’t see his record as Governor being grounds for electing him game warden or garbage collector for that matter.

Dewine is either bought and paid for, being blackmailed or he is a pervert like the radical lefty promoters of this nazi issue are.
Doctors performing such surgery should be locked up in the Supermax in Colorado across the hall from the parents.
Insurance companies providing insurance for such operations should be sued with no cap on damages.
Locally it is thought his financial support by Childrens Hospital in Cincinnati is the problem. For my part, he is Jeb Bush in an Elmer Fudd costume.
This is why Trump’s role is rightly Leader and President. These people wrap themselves into the weeds about this possibility or that. Trump is wide eyed about what this is about to him and says it. This would have stopped men playing in women’s sports. End of conversation. If you feel there is some specific, narrow scenario that needs to be addressed that is the exception and not the rule. Trump is a great messenger for the issue exactly BECAUSE he won’t get into the weeds on the issue.

This is actually a very simple thing to understand.
There is no such thing as ‘transgender’.
The entire concept is either a mental illness or a sexual fantasy, neither of which is appropriate policy in government.
It’s time to tell the truth. If you’re not sure what you are, look at your birth certificate. If that doesn’t clear things up, then look between your legs.
You are either one or the other, you cannot be both and you cannot change the biology of how you were born, no matter how much someone may have persuaded you otherwise.
If a person has an overwhelming desire to identify as something other than what they are, refer back to the first explanation; it is either a mental illness or a sexual fantasy.
Underage minors are not allowed to enter into binding legal agreements because they do not have the maturity to make life-changing decisions. This is the law of the land in all 50 states. Nothing is more life changing than having your genitalia mutilated before you understand their purpose in the first place.
The sexual mutilation of underage children is a criminal offense, but America has a two tier justice system that allows left wing idiots a pass on such enormously important issues such a this.
We need to stop this mutilation, and prosecute and incarcerate the sexually deviant dirt bags doing this to America’s children, not give them a pass like the phony republican DeWine.
