he auto industry is beginning to crank out more electric vehicles (EVs), but there's one big problem: not enough buyers.
Why it matters: The growing mismatch between EV supply and demand is a sign that even though consumers are showing more interest in EVs, they're still wary about purchasing one because of price or charging concerns.

I can’t believe a railroad locomotive manufacturer, Tesla or any vehicle manufacturer hasn’t jumped all over a product diversification market that also bypasses the emissions standards with questionable legalese doubletalk, copy the structure of a railroad locomotive.
A small diesel (or gasoline) engine drives a generator that supplies electricity to the electric motors of the drive train. Install a bank of high capacity capacitors to permit high, instant current for acceleration would be to only change.
No lithium batteries. Regular lead acid to start the deiseal engine to drive the generator(s). If the diesel powered generator isn’t running, you don’t drive.
Unmatched torque in electric motors.
Then get copyright logo use permission from Union Pacific, BNSF and other railroad companies to use their logo as that “edition” (purely a sales pitch to males)
I’d buy a truck like that in a heartbeat if it was reasonably priced.
Manifestly untrue.
In other words, upon closer examination, consumers are not really interested in EVs.
Batteries wear down, even when not in use. The longer these sit, the price should come down accordingly from wear and tear.
Intelligent people don’t want that crap!
EV’s lose Ford and GM about 40k per vehicle. So they’re propped up by the government. Just sitting without a buyer is 100k +/-.
I bet the used ev market is even slower.
EVs can be a good choice for urban/suburban folk who only need a car to commute to work or run errands around town. In that use case, an EV can make a lot of sense. For me, this would be a great second car as I could use my ICE vehicle for longer trips and for inclement weather.
Also, an EV can be a great car for a wife, as she won't have to worry about oil changes or having to drive to a gas station where she has to pump her own gas.
So I don't disdain EVs. I just don't like the government pushing them on us for no good reason.
If it makes sense for you, go ahead and buy one. That's what I say.
I see a lot of Teslas out there. Not so many of the other ones.
EV are just another attempt to restrict our freedoms.
Watch for a growing number of car manufacturers to start up in RED States and let the imbeciles in the BLUE state wallow in their own stupidity.
You mean people don’t want a potentially ticking time bomb parked in their garwhike they’re sleeping?
🤔

Like solar the government (our tax dollars) are being used to subsidize this failure
Excellent 👍👍👍
Diesel-electric is usually reserved for those giant dumptrucks that are used in strip mining.
One more commercial use of the technology for on-road use is the New Bus for London aka “Borismaster”, in the UK.
I suspect the cost of replacing a blown-out traction motor might be a factor. Also, they are no good for driving through even the most shallow of floods.
Who wants an electric pickup truck?
“because of price or charging concerns”
That’s only two reasons.......I can name several others right off the top of my head.....and half of those fall under the “charging concerns” umbrella.
It really seems like a huge subsidized push to get everyone completely dependent on energy schemes that simply don’t work. Then, when the (workable) methods are all phased out, society will be allowed to realize that the “sustainable” methods are failures. Whoops! No energy for you, you peasants! Enjoy your new life of poverty and oppression.

‘Green diesel’ from natural gas? It’s coming
Diesel Hybrid Pickup Trucks - Green Machines: Also Available In Camo
The truck is powered by a 6.6L Duramax diesel and electric motors that can increase fuel mileage by 20 percent and also work as a generator, producing 30kw of electricity.
If the gave me a Tesla as a gift, I would use it as a mobile DJ setup and take it to kids parties.
