Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Vadym Skibitskyi said that around January 15 conscription would begin and that it would take Russian forces around two months to organize its formations.
The Kremlin will mobilize up to 500,000 Russians for a spring offensive, Ukrainian Defense Ministry representatives predicted on Friday.
Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Vadym Skibitskyi told The Guardian that it was expected that around January 15 conscription would begin and that it would take Russian forces around two months to organize its formations.
While Skibitskyi said the mobilization could include 300,000 on the lower end, both he and Ukrainian intelligence representative Andriy Chernyak said that up to 500,000 people could be mobilized.
Chernyak told T-online that such a large mobilization would mean that this round of conscription would impact large Russian cities such as Moscow and St. Petersburg.
The Ukrainian National Resistance Center said on Friday that people in the disputed Donetsk region would also be mobilized and that the restrictions on conscripting civil servants would be removed.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, around 300,000 people were mobilized following Russian President Vladimir Putin's announcement "partial mobilization" in late September.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Wednesday that a major "aggression" was planned for the coming months, and his office head Andriy Yermak met with US representatives on Friday that emphasized Russia's "concentrating groups for offensive actions."...

This won’t cut it.
Pooty needs at least a million more GOOD troops to achieve his objectives. Maybe more.
ganeemead in the months before February 24, 2022 “Russia is not going to invade Ukraine, that is a hoax spread by the evil west”
ganeemead in the months from March to September “Ukraine is going to surrender in the next 2 weeks”
ganeemead now “Ukraine is a dead state”
Meanwhile Ukraine has pushed Putin’s army out of more than half of Russia’s gains in Feb/March. Russia in March 10th controlled 27% of Ukraine. Today it controls 14% (and that includes Crimea and the Donbas districts it took in 2014)
“Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Vadym Skibitskyi said...”
Didn’t realize that Russia now uses Ukrainian officials to make major announcements.
One to carry the rifle, three to carry the ammo.
Russia has innovated and sped up training so that all of those courses are immediately theirs when they get on the train to the front.
When they get there, they are issued a rusty rifle which is totally different from the brand new one they held during their swearing in ceremony.
Next, they are ordered to attack and continue attacking through direct Russian artillery fire - there is no time to retrieve the dead and the too badly wounded are shot on the spot or left to bleed out. The 15-20% that survive and are not badly wounded are then recycled into the next attack, and so on.
Eventually Russian conscripts are fully trained through this innovative method.
that’s why they make cluster munitions and artillery shells with ball bearings.
Anyone who works in a bakery will not be mobilized as they will have to work 24/7 to meet cake demands.
How will such a mass of conscripts be trained, equipped, deployed, and then supported in the field
—
Where are the weapons and materiel? Where are the trainers?
Material supplied by previous soldier, retrieved on the battlefield. The trainers were used up by last June and returned home as 200s.
—
Where will the officers to lead the conscripts come from?
—
From their distant command centers through radio commands. Its pretty easy as the standing order is ‘attack, attack and attack’.
—
a recipe for massive casualties.
—
Mass casualties are expected and discounted. Considered a trading of low value human material (Russian conscripts) in exchange tor high value human material (Ukraine troops).
Further, by spring, there will likely be no Russian army in the field left to absorb the new drone fodder :

Russian troops killed in their trenches have never seen a Ukrainian soldier but the drones see and then kill them where they live

Same goes for Lada factory workers.
You are a lying sack of excrement. I never said that nor would I have ever said that after summer 2021 when it became obvious that Russian buildups were consistent with an intention to invade and not consistent with any kind of gamesmanship.
They are indeed. To build an army from scratch (mostly), like the Soviets did after the disastrous losses of 1941, takes about 18 months to do it right. The new armies showed up in late 1942 as the armies which took the offensive in the Stalingrad area. It takes a good while to train units for gunnery, tactical training and staff and logistical support. Stint of the training and you get a lot of casualties from simply not knowing what to do in a situation.
The spring?! But everyone knows Russians can only fight effectively when led by General Winter!
Everyone gets a magazine. You pick up the closest rifle. That’s the Russian way.
They won’t be measuring armor in “inches of armor”, but in the number of bodies a projectile has to go through. As in, “This truck has four Orcs of protection from the front.”

Consistently.
I’m surprised Putin hasn’t already mobilized any propagandist that makes him look this bad.
Ganee - you got your mobilization papers to Putin’s army yet?
btw, if this wasn’t a war, then a war, then Ukraine kept surrendering “in the next 2 weeks” for months
how come Russia needed a partial mobilization in the first place if it wasn’t losing and bleeding badly?
