Germany bans farmers from fertilizing own land to serve E.U.'s 'green agenda'

Farmers in Germany have been banned from properly fertilizing large areas of their land under strict EU rules pushing the green agenda.

The use of nitrate fertilizers has been further restricted for large swathes of farmland in North Rhine-Westphalia, which is now likely to drastically reduce yields.

Although German authorities have implemented the ban, it is ultimately at the behest of the European Union, which is seeking to reduce the amount of nitrogen to tackle ‘climate change.’

The policy has already wreaked havoc in the Netherlands.

As The Daily Fetched reported in September:

Dutch farmers have risen in protest to oppose the government curbs on nitrogen emissions to comply with Brussels.

Only Denmark, Ireland, the Flanders region of Belgium, and the Netherlands are permitted to exceed 170 kilos of manure per hectare, the current EU cap.

But under the terms negotiated by the outgoing Agriculture Minister, the exemption will end in 2026 and impact approximately 18,000 farms in the Netherlands, which spreads more manure on fields than other EU nations.

Farms affected by the decision will only be able to apply for 10,000 euros in assistance, which even Staghouwer acknowledged will not be sufficient to cover their losses, adding it “is not a nice message” to the farmers.

Didn’t they try this recently in Sri Lanka, leading to food shortages (famine)?

Germany, as with the EU, are running out of their own wrists to cut.

But yeah, keep doing the bidding of the likes of Schwab and his Great Reset agenda, that of Agenda 21, etc., etc.....I am sure things will get even ‘better’ for the EU and the people of their respective countries, as they continue to slide down the path of self-destruction.

“How would you like your caterpillar? Rare or medium rare.”

They have not arguably reached that point yet, they are at the eating pet food level.

While many think this is merely a "green" ideology run amok, I begin to suspect that the Western oligarchs -- especially of the Gates sort -- also plan on buying up farmland from farms which then fall into economic plight, pennies on the dollar.

The lie than nitrogen is somehow a "greenhouse" gas affect a climate or climate change is illogical, given the percentage of nitrogen in the atmosphere. Inert and harmless to both plants and animals, this assertion wholly and completely political. The EU Commission is fascist. Plain and simple.

3,000 farms to be shuttered. Gee, I wonder if that will have any impact on food production.. Why yes Virginia, there are idiots in charge.

Yes, good point. There was certainly a lesson to be learned from that fiasco.
But modern liberals (who are really socialists) will never learn. “Because this time it will be different.”

Reduce supply and raises the prices. Simple supply and demand. The US will pay the price for the EU’s feckless behavior since corporations will chase the higher EU prices and reduce supply here. Guess what? Prices skyrocket here even more. The Great Reset continues.

And, don’t forget the moratorium on breeding meat animals and wholesale slaughter of herds to reduce the the amount of manure that needs to be stored, composted, and spread as fertilizer for green crops. It will result in worldwide famine and and death - that’s the goal, of course. Reducing the World population through bio-engineered disease, famine and wars over who eats and who doesn’t. EVIL EVIL EVIL Who will fight to survive?

And they’ll be eating that Alpo out of the can since they won’t have any electricity to heat it up this winter.

Yes, and it’s probably time to remind the world that the Nazis, in addition to being Socialists, were leaders in leftist utopian ideas like radical environmentalism, prohibitions on animal experimentation (replacing them with humans), censorship by the media of “destructive” news and ideas, euthanasia, etc.

With more than 18 million inhabitants, it is the most populous state of Germany. Apart from the city-states, it is also the most densely populated state in Germany. Covering an area of 34,084 square kilometres (13,160 sq mi), it is the fourth-largest German state by size.

Most densely populated. Doubt there's a ton of farming going on their. Probably a lot of market gardeners but they're already moving towards using a lot of compost instead of chemical fertilizers.

Then again with that area being in the Northeast;

Agricultural products vary from region to region. In the flat terrain of northern Germany and especially in the eastern portions, cereals and sugar beets are grown. Elsewhere, with the terrain more hilly and even mountainous, farmers produce vegetables, milk, pork, or beef. Almost all large cities are surrounded by fruit orchards and vegetable farms
