Airlift a month’s worth of food and supplies to each ship, along with a map and navigation instructions to get them to Germany. At that point, any obligations Italy may have had on humanitarian grounds have been fulfilled.

Not really. Especially not now that the German economy is imploding. Before they accounted for 20% of the EU economy, and about 28% of the Eurozone. But they aren’t paying for things anymore and are in deep trouble.
They no longer get to issue demands. Italy is buying Russian gas, just elected a nationalist who is personally in deep conflict with EU values. Push too hard and they may walk. The German green thing and Ukraine war has destroyed their ability to wield economic power.
I am not trying to counter anything you posted. I just want to add my opinion that Germany will most likely get through their current self-inflicted crisis just fine.
The bigger, long-term question is how will they survive their current demographic implosion, and what kind of nation will they become?
I suppose Japan might be the model in this respect.
Well, I don't know how sovereign Italy is - except it's a lot more sovereign than Germany.
Germans are still Germans.
Germany is already being plagued with high inflation, shortages of fuel and threats of a very cold winter due to lack of heating.
Just what they need, more destitute migrants to tax the system, especially the beleaguered taxpayers. This is being forced on the German people who certainly do not want this.
Stand strong Italy, hopefully the German people will get their act together before it’s too late (if it isn’t already, Merkel already accepted a million military-aged muslim men an counting).
Accurate to a degree. But the Germans are no longer industrious and hard working. They have wrecked their own economy on the altar of global warming, aggressive globalism, provoking wars, and ideology.
So all they are left with is criticizing those who want to enjoy life and not join into their retarded quests.
