Trump Org ‘cheated’ on taxes for 15 years, prosecutors say at NYC trial

The Trump Organization cheated tax authorities for 15 years by bankrolling big perks for top executives — including apartments and luxury cars, Manhattan prosecutors said as the real estate company’s criminal trial got underway Monday.

Former President Donald Trump’s firm used the perks to pay its executives — without reporting those benefits — as part of an alleged scheme to avoid paying taxes between at least 2005 and 2021, Assistant District Attorney Susan Hoffinger said in her opening statements in Manhattan Supreme Court.

“This case is about greed and cheating, cheating on taxes,” Hoffinger told jurors.

“The scheme was conducted, directed and authorized at the highest levels of the accounting department at the company.”

The ex-president’s namesake company benefited from the alleged plot by keeping its “trusted” chief financial officer, Allen Weisselberg, happy and avoiding some taxes, the prosecutor said.

Yeah?
So when are they going to bring charges against Hunter Biden for blatant tax evasion and tax cheating?

The Eye Are Ess makes the rules, we play the game one mans evasion is another man avoidance. It’s up to the authorities to disallow a tax strategy. It’s not cheating if it’s a reasonable difference of opinion. Fines snd interest can be assessed certainly but it’s cheap PR to call it cheating.

Also, his golf courses, hotels, and airplane colors were all intentionally designed to be racist and anti-lgbt...

Clearly, the death sentence is the minimum he can expect...

Mystery of the Century: How did the IRS not have a clue about all these alleged improprieties for decades, even though they were constantly auditing his taxes?

Sorry, doesn’t pass the common sense test. Is the agency that incompetent? I don’t think so. The Marxists are throwing everything including the kitchen sink at him in their desperation. He’s standing between freedom and the New World Order, and they simply can’t have that. Prayers up for the rightful President of this great Republic!

Everyone with a complicated tax return “cheats” on it. And by that I mean will make innocent mistakes due to the convoluted nature of our tax code. So if they want ya, they’ve got ya.

Sure.

Let’s not forget the Clintons have been cheating on their taxes for thirty years.

But they were allowed to “amend” their taxes after they got caught . . .

And they also stated that Hunter Biden is an Eagle Scout, choir boy who spends his idle hours volunteering with wounded warriors.

If an employee is paid, in cash or goodies of some kind, that payment to the employee is an expense to the employer and a tax burden to the employee. So if Trump & Co never reported these payments or renderings, they did not take the deduction(s) for same which would result in an OVERpayment of taxes. The whole thing makes little sense. By the way, what happened to the property overvaluation accusation through which Trump was able to borrow more than the properties might have collateralized? All those loans were paid off many years ago. None of the lenders is claiming to have been unpaid. We’re onto something else, now?

The U.S. Tax Code is 6,871 pages. Add the federal tax regulations and the official tax guidance, the number of pages raises to approximately 75,000.

The tax law is intentionally complex in that it doles out favors for special interests. The complexity gives the IRS and DOJ many avenues to go after individual taxpayers the federal government wishes to punish. There is no living human being with complete knowledge of the tax code.

I think they amended 6 years. I like where she donates $1 million to their foundation as a “gift” and a write off.

In a nutshell, if it’s a C Corp the corporation itself pays taxes on its income and the employees pay taxes on their salaries/compensation. If it’s an S Corp the owners of the corporation pay taxes on the corporation’s income and the employees pay taxes on their salaries/compensation.
