Dr. Mehmet Oz, who earned former President Donald Trump’s primary-race endorsement in April, is going down in flames according to a new GOP poll.
Republican-affiliated Public Opinion Strategies reports that surgeon-turned-TV-host Dr. Oz trails Democrat John Fetterman by nearly 20 points!
Trump gave Oz his “complete and total endorsement” before the wide-open GOP primary of six candidates, a move that probably sealed the deal with Pennsylvania Republicans.
The doc won in a squeaker, barely beating out second-place finisher David McCormick, 31.2% to 31.1%.
The former president praised Oz’s positions on abortion, crime, the Second Amendment, border security, the military, education, energy independence, and election fraud. Those are all well and good, but before lending an endorsement, someone in Trump’s position first needs to determine whether the recipient is at all likely to win the general election.
In Dr. Oz’s case, right now that’s a big, fat NO.
Let’s face it: He is not a good candidate.
After winning his primary, Oz went AWOL.
While Fetterman was literally incapacitated by a stroke, the doc failed to capitalize on a prime opportunity to define himself and his prone opponent:
Recent reporting suggests that Oz might not have taken advantage of those several weeks where Fetterman was sidelined, a significant span of time during a race that could be integral to party control of the Senate.
Puck is reporting that the former TV personality was in Palm Beach, Florida, until June 9 at least, not holding his first post-primary event until June 10. Oz reportedly also traveled to Ireland to visit family at the end of June and did not return until early July.

Oz should look at Cheney or Maxine waters . You get rich when elected.
Get real and quit being so melodramatic. The Republicans are going to take the Senate. Ignore the fake news Democrat push polls.
Its true Dr. Oz is a weak candidate. Then again, better that than a RINO. We are in a battle with RINOs for control over the Republican party. The more of them we eliminate, the better. Yes, even at the cost of some short term losses. By that I mean, better a Democrat than a RINO. There is no hope for changing the direction of America until RINOs have been purged and we have firm control over at least one of the two parties and it sure as hell ain’t gonna be the Democrat party.
So glad you think that being older means one will be dead on the next six years. Do you feel the same way about Trump?
McCormick has more than just a little stink on him. Many don’t know who his wife is.
A McMaster buddy who was already in the WH. Dina Habib.
Perhaps Dina is the reason why Trump went all in with Oz.
You covered it!
Oz is horrid.
Hannity is horrid.
Trump is too trusting.
If we lose the seat, it ain’t because Trump endorsed Oz - it’s because Republicans can’t ever stick together and too many would rather demoralize our side instead of attacking the other side...Remember how Repubs went against Trump in Alabama and gave Sessions’ old seat to the Dems by opting for Roy Moore instead?
All true.
I’d love to hear Hannity rationalize why, when it came time to join the military, Oz chose to be a Turkish soldier than an american one.
Baris is one of the most interesting guests on War Room.
Oz has been campaigning all over the state. Fetterman has made one public appearance adopting the Biden campaigning from the basement strategy. The Dems will steal PA once again using Philadelphia and Pittsburgh to manufacture votes.
However, it is too early to panic. The public doesn’t start paying attention until after Labor Day. The polls will inevitably tighten. Fetterman is a terrible candidate. And what will the economy look like in October? All signs point to a deep recession or maybe even worse.
Oz has to make the campaign a referendum on Biden. The PA GOP controls the state legislature. It needs to take election fraud seriously.
Kathy Barnette is out there on social media attacking Fetterman and Shapiro while Dr Azz films campaign ads in front of his New Jersey home.
Kathy Barnette talks about Shapiro and lockdowns, masking and mandates while Dr Azz makes a campaign ad in a Wegman's (he gets the name of the supermarket wrong) while complaining about the inflation cost of ingredients to make crudites for the family. Crudites? Yeah, that is a relatable food for Pennsylvania families.
Hannity is a blowhard
Oz said last night that he has been campaigning non-stop around the state and Fetterman has made one public appearance. Fetterman is not accessible to the MSM, which shows no interest in interviewing him. Sound familiar?
Oz getting beat by a man who had a stroke and can barely speak.
That tells you everything you need to know about the quality of candidates in PA.
It was revealed yesterday that Fetterman endorses decriminalizing heroin and opening “safe” injection sites.. that should be OZ’s score, no pun intended.
Bump
FOX did a little expose of Fetterman last night.
I didn’t know much about him but he sounds awful. Truly a leftist of the Nth degree. Wants to abolish the electoral college, increase welfare and all the other socialist boxes are checked.
Said he is 40s years old and has never moved out of his parents house…????
I see these things and just can’t hardly comprehend how brainwashed and sheeplike the public in many areas have became.
There are a lot of conservatives in PA. If you factor out Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, the rest of it is overwhelmingly red.
So if Oz was the only practical choice...what does that say about conservatives in PA?
They don't run for high office.
But you can always find someone who likes the money and the power, someone with nothing better going for them in life, who doesn't mind being handled, doesn't mind lying.
Deep State would certainly love for is to think so, refuse to vote for Oz, turn on Trump.
AZ, GA, NH, and NV are in play for the GOP in 2022. PA will be the toughest hold. And there may be some surprise pick ups for the GOP depending upon what the economy looks like in October. Also, there are other unknown variables that could influence the elections. What will Ukraine look like? Will China make a move on Taiwan? Will Biden fade further?
