I recently resigned from my position as full tenured professor at the University of Toronto. I am now professor emeritus, and before I turned sixty. Emeritus is generally a designation reserved for superannuated faculty, albeit those who had served their term with some distinction. I had envisioned teaching and researching at the U of T, full time, until they had to haul my skeleton out of my office. I loved my job. And my students, undergraduates and graduates alike, were positively predisposed toward me. But that career path was not meant to be. There were many reasons, including the fact that I can now teach many more people and with less interference online.

Brilliant man, the higher ups that are probably busting his cohone’s are prolly jealous. Even more so of his cash flow with books and speaking dates around the world. Canada has lost their friggen minds....
As a great admirer of Peterson, and as someone who works at a college, I applaud his courage. Like Winston Churchill, he is a defiant voice in the wilderness.
The university is becoming an antiquated model for educating the youth. The system is also corrupt to the core and often does more harm than good to those it means to prepare for life, leaving them with a mountain of debt, politically brainwashed, and with little in the way of actual real-world experience.
2+ Decades ago I got an early retirement. I fished and traveled with my wife for basically a year.
Then, I put the word out that I was interested in part time work.
My joke then, and now was the only 3 conservatives asst. professors at our local community college and a conservative board member approached me re lecturing 2-3 courses a semester.
A church lady of ours, a conservative, told my wife and I both to forget it. Her brother a retired conservative had taken one of those jobs. He was miserable the whole time from the treatment by his peers, other faculty, students and the higher ups. He lasted 2 semesters.
So, I talked to him. In a few minutes, he had convinced me to say “No!”.
The conservative board member retired from that position about a year later. He and I became friends. He told me, by refusing the job, I saved myself a lot of misery.
“The university is becoming an antiquated model for educating the youth. The system is also corrupt to the core and often does more harm than good to those it means to prepare for life, leaving them with a mountain of debt, politically brainwashed, and with little in the way of actual real-world experience.”
It has been heading that way for 3+ decades out here in California.
The worthless faculty at 99.9999% of our colleges/universities via student loans have created a well paying life time position for the employees and of little value to their students and tax payers.
He is an incredibly thoughtful, bright guy. An imperfect person, but then we all are.
Peterson calls the Nazis ‘’right wing’’. Screw him.
The Nazis were Leftists.
In person education is just a day care program for ages 3-23 pushed by lazy parents and those with a lack of imagination.
“The university is becoming an antiquated model for educating the youth. The system is also corrupt to the core and often does more harm than good to those it means to prepare for life, leaving them with a mountain of debt, politically brainwashed, and with little in the way of actual real-world experience.”
Bears repeating.
Thanks for sharing that, Grampa Dave. I’m glad you avoided the misery.

are you kidding we are seeing this kind of lock step in small rural white communities. Leftists everywhere
WOW! What a powerful message.
Jordan Peterson along with Jared Taylor are two of the most courageous leaders.
They speak the truth. Will anyone listen?
The left/right dichotomy was created by tyrants who could not imagine a free people. International socialists were left and national socialists were right. When the national socialists lost and the international socialists won after WW2 the IS branded anything not them as “right.” Since the socialists had control of the press freedom lovers became “right.”
I worked in a role at General Dynamics where I had to read the military contracts. The contracts required “diversity and inclusion programs.” There was also some gay support clause which I don’t recall, along, of course, with minority business setasides. In addition, there were sustainable fuel clauses and a host of environmental clauses mandating this and that. They varied from contract to contract. The companies love these as they add costs and profit is a percentage of costs.
There is zero pushback from companies on this nonsense and companies gleefully enforce increasingly weird and nonsensical rules. One that got me was if you say or do something that an uninvolved third party things is racist or sexist, then, by definition, it is, and you’ll be punished or fired. Like the ordinary Germans who became vicious prison camp guards, ordinary managers go power mad with their ability to ruin someone’s life.
This nonsense is so entrenched in companies I don’t see how it could be taken out without penalties for actually having it. Can’t see that happening.
Also, in case you were wondering where people with a gender studies or social studies degree goes to work they put them in HR.
Thank Scotus.
All of this corrosive nonsense stems from its insane 1978 Bakke decision, in which it constitutionalized affirmative action.

Thanks, my FRiend.
Sometimes, we seem to have guardian angels to guide us, if we just listen to them.
