At least 75 federal lawmakers held shares of Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, or Pfizer in 2020. Lawmakers' holding stock in these companies has prompted ethical concerns.

Several other lawmakers traded shares of companies with a direct stake in the pandemic.

Dozens of Republican and Democratic lawmakers on Capitol Hill have invested in companies that have a direct stake in the nation's response to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to an Insider analysis of federal financial records.

In 2020, at least 13 senators and 35 US representatives held shares of Johnson & Johnson, the medical behemoth that produced the single-shot COVID-19 vaccine that more than 15 million Americans have received.

At least 75 federal lawmakers held shares

****************

I’d bet it was larger than that. Stock market investments
are the norm for people with wealth. Even working class with
retirement plans/benefits most likely have investments in the
market via their retirement plan.

Heck FReepers have to make income via work/investments/etc.
Gotta make money somehow and they aren’t dumb.

Can’t blame them I guess. When your current investments are going down the tube, gotta move your money somewhere. I could do without the vax pimping though.

One of many reasons this nonsense has been dragged out.

They just shut one of those accounts down, don’t know if it’s the Pelosi portfolio account you’re talking about.

Donald Trump is not a politician. For he has not made his career in politics. But I understand what you are implying. I just don't think he should be even classified as a politician. 🙂

Though my first thought was the same when I saw that statement. But upon further consideration. I couldn't consider him to be a politician. If the country didn't need intervention, I doubt he ever would have entered politics at all, and would have been a much happier person as a result. But God Bless him for doing so. 🙂

...That's it? What, did they take this count after the other ~450 sold theirs off right after the big stock price jump?

As a side note, I recall that Mr K (not the one on this forum) and I were having a discussion about vaccine-related stuff he had been listening to on the radio as he drove around during his work day. I said I had noted a great deal of hysteria over the issue, too - including from people who seem to have their wits intact, but get REALLY UPSET if you diss the holy vaccination. I have never seen people get like this over flu shots - it has been quite a while since I worked in a health care facility, admittedly, but the raging “You deserve imprisonment” or other invective doesn’t seem like any health care professionals I’ve ever worked around.

Anyway I was remarking on this really extreme anger compared to other flu epidemics and wondering why people who haven’t really shown any sign that they were that deranged over the issue of forced pharmacotherapy - which, you know, the same people are okay with 12-year-olds getting abortions without their parents’ knowledge, legalizing “sex work” (prostitution, which is known/proven to spread disease and societal problems like drug addiction) and so on. My body, my...... choice......?

I was like “What happened to all these at least marginally sane, rational people? I’ve been following some of ‘em for years and I never see them get so upset this type of thing.”

Mr K immediately reacted with anger, saying, “They know it’s political, that’s why!!”

That is: They know it’s nothing but a political power play. A lot of nice, innocent people will die or be ruined, but our Caring Left is willing to make that “sacrifice” to see their political enemies suffer further damage.

The long-term result will be a Dark Ages. (Not a “sort of” dark ages but a real Dark Ages.) Do they care? Nope: It’s time for political maneuvering against OUR ENEMIES!! Damn the torpedoes.

exactly

But forgive them for they know not what they do

even Trump was fully invested in the scamdemic

so Trump was either a sucker

or he was in on the Covid racketeering scam

no two ways about it

I'd say Trump was a sucker

and now he has too much pride to admit he got snookered and come out and say the jabs suck. I’d respect him more if he did that.

You're more right than you probably know. I've been a moderator on other forums and when someone who was ordinarily level headed took an illogical position on a topic, wouldn't budge a millimetre and argue with everyone over it, with the odd exception of just someone getting their jollies being an antisocial troll, we'd typically find that there was a monetary interest involved. Put the ban hammer on the more disruptive ones, timeouts for others to see if they'd settle down. I have no doubt that's what's going on around here too.
