A new study published in Nature’s Scientific Reports by researchers at the Danish National Space Institute at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem suggests that the Sun’s activity in screening cosmic rays affects clouds and, ultimately, the Earth's energy budget with concomitant climatic effects. Science editor David Whitehouse interviews Professor Henrik Svensmark, one of the study's authors.

The scientist interviewed us Henrik Svensmark. This is the scientist who originally discovered the connection between 1) decreasing peaks of solar magnetic activity occurring during the respective heights of the typucally 11 year solar sunspot cycle, causing 2) proportionally less magnetic field protection of the Earth to shield it from incident cosmic rays from more or less all directions in space, causing 3) increased penetration of Earth's atmosphere by incident cosmic rays, causing 4) increased creation of certain aerosols at key elevations in the Earth's atmosphere when those cosmic rays hit certain ions, causing 5) significantly increased cloud particle (H20 or moisture droplets) nucleation and thus increased cloud cover at those key altitudes, causing 6) albedo ("whiteness" or energy from incident sunlight being reflected back out into space before it reaches the surface of the earth) to increase, causing 7) less overall energy from sunlight to reach the surface of the earth (most significantly, less energy reaching the surface of the water of the Earth's oceans, where such light energy tends to be absorbed rather than reflected back out into space), causing 8) the temperature of the Earth's sea water to decrease over time due to less warming from sunlight, inevitably causing 9) the climate to become cooler over time.
This science destroys the climate change theory based on the so-called greenhouse effect of carbon dioxide (CO2).
Professor Svensmark has been quietly collecting and analyzing his experimental data for two decades now and appears to have proven his case that solar activity is the main driver of the Earth's climate, though via the indirect mechanism of increasing and decreasing incidence of cosmic rays from every direction in space (now proven) rather than any purported mechanism arising from hypothesized changes or variation in Total Solar Irradiance (long known not to be strong enough to explain climate change).

A significant portion of the public has been convinced climate change is real, and disastrous. Of those who are fearful, many have been indoctrinated to the point where climate change is their religion, (because they are not religious in any other sense).

it’s not looking like the shield will be coming back online any time soon.

Must be careful with this statement. Changes in ground area vs sea area under effective insolation ('Solar Irradiance') due to continental drift is why we are currently in an Ice Age.
Antarctica moved to the south pole: all that quick-heating land vs slow-heating sea moved to a place with low insolation - and the world became way colder.
The Cosmic Ray theory (now proved!) affects climate on the order of 11 year Solar magnetic cycles, and multiples of 11 yr cycles.
The sun in general is (of course!) the driver of climate and therefore of climate change, but the cosmic ray variation is a small part of it.
Because lgblt, blacks, poc’s, women and children are hardest hit.
This is, however, the true scientific kill shot I’ve been aware of for well more than two decades. I’ve been tracking it ever since, waiting to mature scientifically. It appears to have matured unscathed. In other words, scientifically speaking, the debate appears to be over. Thank heavens for Professor Svensmark and the academic institution that has been supporting his research since the late 1990s.

I simply tell them, if anthropological global climate change is real, then they should be happy to die from covid and help solve the problem.
The professor shows that CO2 may not be the main driver of temperature changes; this is very unpopular, because man has much less to do with the ups and downs of the global heat budget.

I don’t disagree with what you say but I will say this; natural climate change is real and has been happening for about 4 billion years. Man caused, or Anthroprogenic, climate change is fake BS.
Yes. The recent trend of weakening of solar cycles portends climate cooling. But now we know exactly why. Total Solar Irradiance was not the issue. Instead, it was the overall size and strength of the Sun’s magnetic field and the protection or lack of protection it afforded nearby Earth. We are heading into a near-term future of less protection from the magnetic field of the sun JUST As the Earth’s own magnetic field is undergoing a drastic weakening trend. A double whammy that portends a much greater volume of spaceborne cosmic rays penetrating our atmosphere, nucleating cloud cover, increasing our albedo, and force-cooling our climate.
