Yes. The recent trend of weakening of solar cycles portends climate cooling. But now we know exactly why. Total Solar Irradiance was not the issue. Instead, it was the overall size and strength of the Sun’s magnetic field and the protection or lack of protection it afforded nearby Earth. We are heading into a near-term future of less protection from the magnetic field of the sun JUST As the Earth’s own magnetic field is undergoing a drastic weakening trend. A double whammy that portends a much greater volume of spaceborne cosmic rays penetrating our atmosphere, nucleating cloud cover, increasing our albedo, and force-cooling our climate.

I’m also in NJ and agree with your distillation of the study. I tell the true believers in the CO2 theory that if we were to have another earth with the worst case climate and CO2 levels, close enough to reach with our future space travel, we’d all want to go there and adapt to its living conditions. So why not accept our fate and do the adaptation here?
