Researchers at Caltech have opened the doors to hell and allowed a creepy robot that can walk on two spindly feet and even fly to enter our world.
The terrifying biped, called LEONARD (LEgs ONboARD drone), or LEO for short, is basicically the bottom half of a humanoid robot strapped to a flying drone.
The researchers’ goal wasn’t to come up with the next mass-marketable invention, but to test new ways of locomotion for robots meant to complete dangerous jobs and explore hard-to-reach places.
Did we mention it can skateboard and slackline as well?

Coming to kill you soon.Swarms of them. When we see a unit like this, we need to think of it like a single murder hornet. Just one is dangerous, however we can usually deal with a single hornet successfully. But they come in swarms and act together as if with a single mind, and that's very different.

Right now, it looks like a very expensive toy that some unseen person is operating with switches and toggles.
Perhaps it can be used for mining. That’s a very dangerous profession, that hasn’t changed a great deal in decades.
Some areas of Africa are still sending small children into underground caves to mine precious minerals such as Cobalt.
I can see using this Ant-Man for a job like that.
