"You are not going to eat beef in the future — I one hundred percent guarantee it."
Political commentator and rancher Glenn Beck stresses each of those words at the beginning of his recent video. He explains that in the not too distant future, public land will not be used for cattle grazing, resulting in government-imposed meat shortages. Beck worries that our food supply will be crippled by the globalists, and Americans will no longer have control over what they eat, how it is processed, and what it costs.
Globalist advocates of the New World Order are promoting so-called "sustainability" programs that will raise beef prices so high that only the super-rich will be able to afford it. This is designed to be achieved by outlawing grazing on public land, allowing an oligopoly of meat-packers to squeeze ranchers out of business, and popularizing plant-based meat. It's the big meat-packers who will make this fake meat, so their profits will continue to skyrocket, sustained under the cover of "climate virtue."
Veganism is being advanced as the most ethical way to sustain the planet, and to promote human health and animal welfare. But along with that, ranchers and small- and medium-scale beef-packers are being marginalized. The very consumption of meat is being damned. Deploying outright lies, a misguided agenda threatens individual liberty and our freedom to farm, own livestock, control our land, and choose our diet.

My brother and sister-in-law were visiting earlier in the summer. He started telling me how it takes 2400 gallons of water to produce 1 pound of beef. This is of course a complete load of crap. I grew up with horses, cows, pigs, chickens and various other farm animals.
We never had less than 3 or 4 dozen cattle at any time. We didn't use any more water than most people with a decent sized lawn. And like many places in the country our fields did not require irrigation to produce enough grass to keep the cows happy. The grass hay and alfalfa that we used to supplement their diets with in the winter were produced by unirrigated fields as well.
But of course my soon to be promoted to general... woke brother-in-law chose to believe the vegan propaganda he watched on Netflix over someone who actually raised cattle.
Adult hogs are edible, the coyotes love to eat what we leave for them. A lot of time we do a two day deal slack down pigs at night then come back in the morning when the yotes are on the kill and shot the yotes too. Be sure too cook through to at least 180 they carry worms and parasites heat kills the eggs though. The way we decide if they end up in the BBQ is female less than 50 lbs are for humans the rest are buzzard and yote chow.
I read an article by an Oregon wildlife biologist about wild pigs. It said that you have to cull 70% annually just to maintain a level population.

We didn't understand what K2 did until 1997. I think it's a significant jump to assume that we understand everything, now.
As for the frankenfoods, I'm sure their safe enough, as a supplement to the diet, but I think it's very dangerous to make them a staple.
I have never tried the “plant based” meat but I am seeing it much more frequently in the grocery stores and restaurants. I have nothing against it, just no interest in it. Besides, if this means that people begin eating this rather than real meat, that will leave more of the real stuff for me!
I have these 200 lb squirrels that migrate though my yard every evening and every morning. Some of them don’t make it all the way through. Freezer is full. There are many large areas of zero hunting open spaces around here, and I am right between two of them.
If you don’t have your own land then go with an outfit.
Night time hunting with NVGs and supressors is great to get the “operator” feel if you have the funds the top end is airborne helicopter hog hunting hanging out the side strapped in with a AR10 semi auto. Texas used to allow full.auto but we can’t have nice things now.
Here’s a crazy thought. I just read on another thread that mad scientists have created a corn hybrid that acts as a contraceptive by killing human sperm. (Nice, huh? A big ol’ wet dream for Bill Gates and his ilk.) Perhaps this condom corn could be set out as a lure for feral hogs. And just think of the unforeseen consequences!
We don't have enough land for cattle. Farming here is cattle farming though. Someday soon I'll be getting a breeding pair of small pig, Kunekune breed. Gotta have pork to go with that lean goat meat for making sausage or even ground meat for burgers, meatloaf, tacos, chili etc.
Smart cattle farmers are running meat goats and/or hair sheep with their cattle. Good thing to start on it now and learn those animals. That way they can simply reduce the cattle and increase the small ruminants if need be.
One of my X girlfriends lived up against a nature conservation area that banned hunting so the 200# ground rats grew out of control in number they constantly were tearing up her mom’s garden even with fencing they just pushed it down. One call to new BF and his trusty compound now took the two main ones out of the equation and three family freezers full of meat. This is a reason to have and learn the bow even if you are a rabid Rifle hunter. Nothing is quieter than a bow not even a suppressed Rifle and subsonic ammo.
I’ve eaten vegetarian grub that was excellent and satisfying. A hospital where I used to work was 7th-Day Adventist and all their cafeteria food was vegetarian - the veg meatloaf was really good! Sometimes I would rather have a vegetarian burger because meat’s kinda hard to chew and digest at my age - but nothing beats a nice bloody piece of rare prime rib, ya know?
I do have a bit of a problem with Mr Beck “100% guaranteeing” that we’re all going to go vegetarian pretty soon out of necessity. He seems to take a lot of pleasure in predicting the doom of American society and culture, doesn’t he? He was talking tough conservative for a little while but now he’s back to moaning and whining. He’s a quisling.
If you want to “grow your own meat” let me recommend goats. They are much easier to keep than cattle. The only meat I have ever taken part in slaughtering/butchering is poultry (yuck!), but I knew some people who raised goats, and there are pros that will come and take care of that for you so you don’t have to get a huge mess all over your barn.
I also knew people who raised rabbits for meat in their back yard. That’s a little too hard-core for me, however. I’ve never been too crazy about the idea of eating rodents, either.
Are they going to confiscate my cattle?
Where are you; IIRC Publix is in the southeast.
Petite sirloin in North Texas is $5.98 a pound, and ribeye is $12 to $15 a pound.
Petite sirloin for me.
ribeye, t-bone, porterhouse, KC strip, all out of our price range. We don’t even bother with steak anymore. We get cheap roasts and either cook them in the Instant Pot or if eye of round, in the oven and then through the meat slicer for deli roast beef.
Every few years they use corn to qualify the land for tax breaks. Mmmmm Mmmmmm Mmmmmm!.
But that is not the Leftist Way. If a Leftist doesn't like something, then it needs to be destroyed so no one can have it.
I truly hate those people.
I’m going to reset my donkey on down at the table for a big old chunk of Prime Rib.
With some creamy horseradish.
Mmmmmmm…ll
Many cult leaders quickly learned that is was a lot easier to brainwash the flock by putting them on a non-meat diet.
This could be a part of one of those crazy non-existent conspiracies that right wing fanatics rant about....
Chuck roast $9 a pound. Ridiculous.
I guess no one is concerned about “pink slime” anymore when all they can afford is the roll of hamburg from acme meat processing plant #7.
If it wasn’t for food stamps, there would be food riots. As it stands, it is the middle class who cannot afford to eat beef.
What I don’t get is the level of crazy the anti-meater-eaters have against eating meat.
Looking forward to meat cloning technology which is essentially a device that 3d prints steaks and other meats. Will it replace a real steak? Hopefully not, but maybe it’ll replace cheaper cuts. The proponents say it’ll be as common and as cheap as having a paper printer.
The crazies are still against that, because it’s still eating animal meat—even though it never harms a living animal.
