In a new Politico/Morning Consult poll, respondents who plan to vote in the GOP primary were asked “If the 2024 Republican primary were being held today, for whom would you vote?”
Trump more than tripled his nearest competitor with 48 percent to former Vice President Mike Pence’s 13 percent, while Pence nearly doubled third-place finisher Donald Trump Jr.’s 7 percent. Senators Mitt Romney and Ted Cruz were tied with former Amb. Nikki Haley at 4 percent.
South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, who delivered the GOP response to President Joe Biden’s address to a joint session of Congress last month, drummed up just two percent, besting Sen. Marco Rubio and Gov. Kristi Noem at 1 percent.
Bringing up the rear were Sen. Josh Hawley with 2 … respondents, not percentage points. Gov. Larry Hogan and Sen. Rick Scott each had one supporter in the poll.

And no, I will NOT name two people. Why? Perhaps you missed the last paragraph, so here it is:

I would think by now, everyone would laugh, scoff and make puns about POLLS. Sure.... that is what POLITICO wanted to see in their fixed results.
I was polled by PEWWWW for 2016 election. They didn’t call - instead they sent me a letter with $1 enclosed. The letter had me log-on and then go through their questions (obviously I didn’t have to participate). At the end they offered me another $20 due to me being a ‘special category’ based on an answer I gave them...so I did those questions too.
Worked out fine, and a good way to poll. So, when you hear of an Internet Poll, there’s more to it than, say, a Drudge ‘vote’. They choose you, probably based on more information than they ever had with calling. So the polling can be better...but they still missed Trump, big-time.
As to answering strange calls, I’m with you. I keep getting calls for some kind of ‘air bag recall’ for my car, even though I removed them years ago. Annoying as hell, so I never answer.
I’ll take either or both.
If there are people walking around who would vote for Mitt Romney, make sure they are not an imminent threat to themselves or others, and I then I would advise crossing the street to walk on the opposite sidewalk. Sheesh.
Of course Trump is ahead in the polls. But....Trump himself said the MAGA movement is about America and not himself (paraphrasing here). It may be he will be too old in 2024. My bet is he will back DeSantis or Scott, maybe even a ticket with both on it. Whoever it is will probably be the nominee and the next President.
