Too bad, none of them supported Trump.

A Freeper pointed out last week that there may be other issues at work here. The stupid face mask rules are one thing keeping staff away. He/she also cited a conversation with an experienced waitress who refuses to go back to work until the restaurants in her area are permitted to open up to their full seating capacity. With reduced capacity restrictions in place, these staff lose a lot of income from tips even if they are working the same hours they had pre-COVID.
I found that interesting, for sure.

This restaurant rescue plan is BS. First you have to be a woman owned or minority owned business or a vet otherwise you are last to get money. I don’t mind giving Vets preference but the rest is racist garbage. Secondly, you have to subract your first PPP and second PPP draw from how much you will be eligible for and basically that brings you to not much. Also, the paperwork is so much more onerous than PPP and EIDL.

My small city run by a democrap hired two additional “administrators” at a cost of $121k each.. an administrative budget increase of 25%. So the American Rescue is doing what it’s designed to do... rescuing democrap governed cities.

Yes, here in blue state Illinois it is a huge problem.
A relative in restaurant management for 27 years told me he cannot get people to return to work when competing with all the money paid to not work.

To be fair, the extra $600 per week on top of normal unemployment checks started under Trump and was extended under Trump and then extended by Biden.

Why would anyone drag their butt to a job in restaurant when they get $600/week bonus checks for remaining unemployed?

There are probably servers hesitant to return to the job because they don’t want to be the Mask Police.
Some may consider it akin to Hazardous Duty.
In many instances, Mask Police are getting pushed around and beaten up by angry Americans who have lost patience with the ever changing rules and standards.

Can you use this money to buy robots? And do they need to be robots of color?

It didn’t remain at $600 per week, but that said, these CEOs supported Biden so I couldn’t care less what happens to their greasy spoons.

It hasn’t been $600 per week in a long time. I believe this last go around it was $300 until the end of March.

There is no ‘labor shortage’. There is a shortage or people willing to work...................Correct. The CommieRat government pays them more to sit on their a$$ than they can earn working.

I admit, it is hard to tell if they are that stupid, or if this IS part of their plan.
I say, both.

If restaurant staff go back to work with reduced seating, they'll collect fewer tips. If they accept work with the reduced tips, they also accept the reduced payment rate on unemployment that comes with it. (Work for less - get paid less on unemployment).
Who would be foolish enough to choose that when corrupt politicians and bureaucrats in your State could shut down your restaurant at any time?
To: ChicagoConservative27
In SoCal they are getting $900 a Week to sit on their ass, why would they want to work?

There is no ‘labor shortage’. There is a shortage or people willing to work................... I would say that there's a shortage of Americans willing to work.
I'm sure there are plenty of illegals willing to work. And that's probably part of jao xiden's handler's plan.

With the Democrats you get the evil sociopaths working twenty four seven to destroy “deplorable” small business, and you also get the clueless academic economists who pontificate from their ivory towers while the economy on the ground is a total mystery to them.
