After months of often violent, destructive protests in Seattle, when the local ABC affiliateKOMO, a Sinclair Broadcasting-owned companyposted a poll on Twitter asking what steps people would take to protect their business or neighborhood, more than half of the respondents say they would arm themselves.
As this report was published, the survey result showed 23.4 percent saying they would rely on police and 25.1 percent said they would work with their neighbors. But being armed outpaced those choices more than 2-to-1, in an ultra-liberal city at the heart of a state that votes blue.
The survey came 2 ½ months after the Citizens Committee for the Right to Keep and Bear Arms issued a statement advising city residents to buy guns, get trained and get a license to carry a loaded sidearm in public.
Back on July 16, CCRKBA Chairman Alan Gottlieb advised Seattleites, While the city council may believe crippling its police department is a politically smart move, its going to directly impact public safety. Nobody should be surprised when more people buy guns and apply for carry licenses.
At the time, the council had just begun talking about slashing the Police Departments budget. Earlier this week, the council did exactly that on a 7-2 vote, overriding Mayor Jenny Durkans earlier veto of the budget that contained the funding cuts.
The turmoil in Seattle is not good for the citys tourism trade, according to a separate KOMO story.

New Trump voters I suspect.
I was concerned about getting ammo. But then I found a source that supplied me with just under 6,500 rounds for all my guns. And 20,000 more if I ever need them.
I’m in the sticks and this is mostly for “prepper” type needs, which is highly unlikely - still. Honestly, the main function of this stuff is to use it to become proficient in the use of my guns, which I currently really am not. I was always too cheap to practice (cartridges are expensive). No more.
I find that hard to believe. Who wouldn't want to bring the family to a city with filthy streets, wall-to-wall homeless, and now the potential to physically harmed or shot to death by rioters. It's like a Pirates of the Caribbean ride, but without any safety devices.
Protests are not violent and destructive.
Riots are violent and destructive.
Just because “protests” are not shooting, doesn’t make them peaceful. Wanton destruction, intimidation, threatening behavior, assaults’, failing to let pass...if these things put fear or fear for their lives in people then it is no longer protesting for redress of grievances.
New Trump voters I suspect.

I’d like to think, but I’m never surprised anymore when someone votes for their own victimization.
That 23.4 percent that would rely on the police are certainly a special kind of stupid, arent they? I mean, have they NOT seen the defunders in their local governments lately?
The “would” stage is getting very long in the tooth, if not long gone.
Many people won’t act until the see how the herd is moving and that is usually too late.
this is true. I shoot between 5000 and 8000 rounds a year between pistol, rifle and shotgun. Thats why its so funny when you see reports of people getting arrested with a 200 round ammo stash, like thats evil.
Shock? It aint shock...bruh.
Sounds like the Seattle Dems realize it is THEIR OWN PEOPLE who are the problem. They (hopefully) are about to release the Kraken on the peaceful protestors.
This is good for America. Armed free Americans are essential to protect freedom for the next generation. Even armed socialists are better for America than disarmed socialists counting on the thug class to do their fighting for them. Armed Americans are far more likely to recognize that they don’t need government to defend them - and by extension that they don’t need government to parent them in other ways either.
I recently met a young woman who lives in Seattle, about 2 blocks from where the CHOP was happening.
It literally scared her sh*tless.
There WILL be an Urban Millenial Trump vote.
And that’s such a shock for what reason??????
Im shocked its not more...
Literally?
“... it does much to clarify their thinking...”
Will it clarify their voting?
Seattle is Camden/Newark of the west coast.
The final poll numbers had 51.4% of the respondents stating they would arm themselves.
That’s because the other 48.6% of the citizens are already armed, buying lots of ammo, and too busy thumbing rounds into magazines.
