Streets are deserted thanks to COVID and people fleeing due to crime & riots.
Former hedge fund manager and entrepreneur James Altucher says New York City is dead and its not coming back.
Born and bred in New York, Altucher took his family and fled to Florida after the Black Lives Matter riots in June when someone tried to break into his apartment.
Since then, the city has continued to suffer a huge surge in shootings and violent crime as well as an anemic financial recovery from the coronavirus lockdown.
Appearing on Fox News Business, Altucher referred to images that were broadcast during the interview showing 6th avenue to be virtually empty.
We have something like 30 to 50 per cent of the restaurants in New York City are probably already out of business and theyre not coming back, he pointed out.
Altucher said that despite offices in midtown being allowed to be open, theyre still largely empty because companies like Citigroup, JP Morgan, Google, Twitter and Facebook are encouraging their employees to work remotely from home for years or maybe permanently.
This completely damages not only the economic eco-system of New York City but what happens to your tax base when all of your workers can now live anywhere they want to in the country? asked the entrepreneur, noting that many were fleeing to places that are cheaper to live like Nashville, Austin, Miami and Denver.
Warning that the situation was only going to get worse, Altucher said that the old New York was not coming back and that creative and business opportunities would now be dispersed throughout the entire country.
What makes this different now is bandwidth is ten times faster than it was in 2008 so people can work remotely now and have an increase in productivity, he added.
As we document in the video below, the blame for all this lies firmly at the feet of two people, Governor Cuomo and Mayor de Blasio.
If they elect Joe Biden, a politburo is exactly what we’ll get.
This little group that we don’t even know, will meet and
determine what policies are good for the U. S. Biden will
then go out in front of the cameras and say what the
politburo has told him to.
I was thinking just quickly putting up a giant wall and making it an open air prison. Drop food from the air.
Only way in or out is Snake Blitzen’s glider.
Think of all those underutilized housing units as warehouses for the homeless. The physical boundaries of the city will continue to exist, even though the infrastructure grows ever more dilapidated each day. The movie “Escape from New York” may even be a blueprint and very close to a documentary sooner than we think.
I post and respond to nothing from Summit News. There is absolutely ZERO transparency as to who is Summit News.
As far as this story itself, it has been and is being well covered by many other news sources that are transparent as to who they are.
Thank A Democrat;

Never thought much about NYC either way(other than the image of the crime laden 70s) until 9/11. I was extremely impressed with the response of Guillani, the Governor and all the First responders. The clean-up in record time and the restoration of prosperity was a miracle imo.
But, as you point out, the voters voted scum in; starting with Bloomberg, who was a democrat but changed his party affiliation when running for Mayor to voting in an out and out communist for Mayor and a leftist radical for Governor.
No sympathy. They deserve what they got.
One wonders if Biden was on any medication, that souped him
up so he could maintain for a few minutes.
Can’t answer that, but De Blasio and Cuomo are Pharaoh.
Alas, Babylon has fallen. The world mourns the demise of the harlot.
Sort of a paraphrase from Holy Scripture.
Theres another issue here no one has addressed.
According to polls, Dems outnumber Republicans, so elections should be a cake walk - except for that Electoral College thing. What good does it do to import ten million lib voters if they all settle in LA or Chicago or NYC?
They need to either abolish the EC or redistribute their voters. If they drive everyone out of the city, at least some will end up in rural America, right?
I lived in NYC years and years ago and it was a great place then. Married and moved to NJ (You gotta problem with that?) but went back to the City for language classes and to Chinatown when I had my cooking classes. Could really see the changes from mayor to mayor. Bless Guilani!
Now? Fagettaboudit!
You cannot get much dumber then the remaining New Yorkers, who are trapped financially forever in the cesspool that they, & Cuomo, Be Blasio & Schumer created!!! The New Yorkers with cash are on their way to Florida & Texas.
If these trapped poor folks want to save their butts and their children’s future, every single one of them better vote for POTUS, Donald J.Trump to be re-elected..period. Trump loves New York City, and he and only he can save it!!! Wise up, dumb folks!!! The Democrats have screwed you without using vaseline!!! Vote for Trump/Pence!!!
Well put
Get ready to be sick------the wacko Mayor and his wife.
You're a pretty smart guy, but that's just DUMB.
Yes, as a property owner everyone who can will pick your pocket, but equity in real property is one of the few ways to build any real wealth for your business or family.
Renting can be advantageous to certain situations, but as you pointed out all your production is fleeting.
That’s what worries me. I’m in a small rural town in TN. The other day I was at the foot doctor. The waiting room was full. There were two loud mouthed Californian’s in the waiting room that had just moved here. They were watching The View and running down the President while the rest of the room sat there and glared at them.
ME: "Hey, Fred ... Why did you set this up as a virtual meeting instead of meeting me outside for lunch at the place next to your office? I'm in New York today and it's a beautiful day! Are you sick?"
FRED: Oh, sorry my assistant didn't tell you when she set this up? I'm not at my office in New York. I'm down in North Carolina, working out of my vacation home."
ME: "You shouldn't be working while you're on vacation, Fred!"
FRED: "I'm not on vacation, AC. I came down here for vacation a few months ago, and I'm not coming back because that jackass Andrew Cuomo says I'll have to quarantine myself at home for 14 days. That's idiotic."
ME (laughing): "So you're staying down there until he lifts his quarantine order?"
FRED: "I'm never coming back, AC. We put the house in New York up for sale last week. We are letting our New York staff work from home wherever they live, but this is now a North Carolina company."
And that's how easy it is, folks. If New York was a publicly traded company, it would drop out of the S&P 500 by Thanksgiving ... and I'd give it 12-18 months before it gets de-listed from the New York Stock Exchange.
No, they are both Christians.
