The head of the Minneapolis police union says George Floyd’s “violent criminal history” needs to be remembered and that the protests over his death are the work of a “terrorist movement.”
“What is not being told is the violent criminal history of George Floyd. The media will not air this,” police union president Bob Kroll told his members in a letter posted Monday on Twitter.
Floyd had landed five years behind bars in 2009 for an assault and robbery two years earlier, and before that, had been convicted of charges ranging from theft with a firearm to drugs, the Daily Mail reported.

probably because it was an attempted crime- or ‘possible attempted crime’ (Person with the bill might not have known it was fake- though i suspect floyd did know- but that’s just a personal opinion of mine based on the fact that he was a career criminal- and all around bad actor- hopped up on drugs- driving around high- didn’t seem like he was ‘trying to turn his life around’ as some claim to me)

Completely wrong. His past has everything to do with what happened to him because it shows what kind of person he was, that he had habitually been in conflict with the law and law enforcement and that he was prone to violence. All those are elements of how he had to be handled. If he had not resisted arrest this would not have happened, it’s as simple as that and only the willfully blind refuse to see it.

That honestly doesn’t matter. He wasn’t doing anything violent at the time, he’d been more or less straight since he’d gotten out of jail, and he was (like many others) left unemployed by the Dem shutdown, since he had worked in a bar.
But that honestly doesn’t matter either.
He was disoriented, was thought to be drunk, told the cops he was having trouble breathing even before they took him out of his car...and they handled it all wrong.
The normal protocols for somebody who you may suspect of being under the influence of drugs are: be careful (because these drugs are toxic to people who even touch the clothing of users) and call EMS. Not handcuff them face down and stand on their necks.
Well citizens also have authority to approach and detain in citizen’s arrests-
in this sense you are wrong... as soon as mr floyd was compliant, the officer had no right to kill him. being cuffed and on his belly was all the past that mattered and the officer, and you, refuse to see that.

Oh I don’t know...it seems he’s had it multiple times in his past. So many times in fact it’s a real headscratcher why he decided resisting arrest was the best course to choose.
