The arching sky is calling
Spacemen back to their trade.
ALL HANDS! STAND BY! FREE FALLING!
And the lights below us fade.
Out ride the sons of Terra,
Far drives the thundering jet,
Up leaps a race of Earthmen,
Out, far, and onward yet ---
We pray for one last landing
On the globe that gave us birth;
Let us rest our eyes on the fleecy skies
And the cool, green hills of Earth.

I do see a few white shirts and black ties at Mission Control.
Nice touch.

The onboard cameras make it feel like being in the back seat, along for the ride.
Sure does!! So amazing.

I remember my Mom waking me up to watch the moon walk on a B&W too.

Interesting that the TV coverage is delayed 20 seconds from the SpaceX live feed!
—
Here, it was the other way around. I was watching on SpaceX’s YouTube page, and talking to my brother on the phone who was watching it on cable - he was 20 seconds ahead of the YouTube feed.

My God I feel like hugging everybody but we’re social distancing via technology. Consider yourselves hugged. Our nation needed this so badly after the forces of evil ran wild last night trying to tear down the dream. They failed.

My father worked for NASA also; chemical engineer.
I lifted a toast to dad at liftoff. He’s looking down on it.

The stuffed dragon was there to show us on the ground the moment when they hit weightlessness as there’s little going on in there.

What was the water we saw spraying on one of the views, about a minute and a half before launch?

Anyone else watching on CNN? I ended up there because I went to the next channel every time one went to a commercial. CNN's coverage was the worst ever. They skipped the launch. It's like they had one feed with a 20 second delay that was still on the count down, then while showing the countdown they switched to another screen with the rocket well clear of the pad. Then through the whole thing they couldn't turn off their bottom of the screen ticker and blocked all sorts of NASA data including to mission clock. Idiots!
Then they missed to rocket landing going from it just finishing the reentry burn to being back on the ship.
Well back to watch the recording of another channel to see if they did better.
