Not for public safety.......its to protect the POS un Constitutional Law breaker politicians.....
The police should no longer carry guns at the State Capitol.
Then watch the rats scurry for cover!
No, there are guns its just that only govt agents can carry but not the general population. So the headline is untrue. Just curious how much of a problem shootings are there. Is this a fix for a nonexistent problem....
Interesting—Does that mean the Capitol is now a GUN FREE ZONE? That would make it less safe would it not?
There have been states in the past few years that actually have done the opposite—ie now allowing concealed carry inside the Capitol Building and legislative offices.
So it’s a gun free zone now?
Interesting.
Finally, cause we all know it's been a bloodbath at the capitol for the last 100 years. /s
I hope they make the “Gun Free Zone” signs big enough to dissuade those who otherwise would see these buildings as nests of undefended soft targets.
Neither should democrats bodyguards be allowed to carry.
Guess the dems are getting nervous...
Virginia lawmakers have voted to ban firearms at the state Capitol>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
That’s gonna work real good. We know what happens in gun free zones. Especially if the the AG attempts to seize the arms of Virginians in a bald violation of the 2nd amendment.
That dog won’t hunt, that dog be diggin’ a deep hidey hole.
And thats how it starts - only approved guns around the elites.
Another “news” story written by an illiterate.
Was this in the form of a law passed by both the house and the senate or a rule passed by whatever committee determines rules of conduct?
So does it have the force of law or is it just a bad boy rule of conduct?

Now every 2nd Amendment activist in Virginia has standing to sue for violation of their civil rights. Talk about “Class Action.”
Is there any way President Trump can address this dumb@ssery in his next term?
I’m ALL FOR State’s Rights, but they still can’t usurp the Constitution. Though, of course, they do! Grrrr!
Except, of course, for the ones protecting their sorry asses.
I picked up on this as well. But you have to understand that their lives are ever so much more important than yours or mine. Please don’t think that they enjoy eating apples and drinking milk. In fact most find apples and milk disagreeablebut they are willing to make the sacrifice for the greater good...
Couple thoughts:
I assume government enforcers are exempt. Because somehow they are an exceptional class of citizen.
Don’t know about there, but I thought CCW could only be forbidden if the building had metal detectors at all entrances.
What are these people scared of? Their “fellow citizens” who they “represent”?
As I read it the gun ban takes effect at close of business today.
