Justice IG to testify next month on alleged 2016 surveillance abuse
The Hill ^ | 11 18 2019 | Jordain Carney

Justice Department inspector general Michael Horowitz will appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee next month to testify on a forthcoming report on alleged surveillance abuse during the 2016 campaign.

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who oversees the panel, announced on Monday that Horowitz will appear publicly on Dec. 11.

Graham’s decision to schedule the hearing is the latest sign that Horowitz’s report is nearing its release. The GOP senator said earlier this month that he expected it within weeks.

“I appreciate all the hard work by Mr. Horowitz and his team regarding the Carter Page FISA warrant application and the counterintelligence investigation of the Trump campaign,” Graham said in a statement.

He added that he expected Horowitz to give a “detailed report” of his findings as well as make “recommendations as to how to make our judicial and investigative systems better.”

“I look forward to hearing from him. He is a good man that has served our nation well,” Graham added.

Horowitz needs just a little more time for the impeachment to take hold before he does anything that might benefit Trump.

This is past ridiculous...

We all know that nothing is real until the conspirators and skunks like Brennan and Comey get indicted and have to pay for high priced, inside the Beltway lawyers. Even then, I think DC juries will acquit these worms. Same applies for juries in the close by counties full of Federal employees and other feeders at the Federal trough.

“Sundance projects FISA report release date of 12/2.”

Sounds likely. The report’s supposed to be about 500 pp long. Nine days is a reasonable amount of time for the media and the Senators to read it, digest it, and ask reasonable, informed questions about it. Just about as long as it takes to read a book of that length.

The last day scheduled for house voting before the break is 12/12. Suppose Pelosi will wait until the twelve before voting official impeachment so she can see all of Horowitz’s cards. Initially weren’t the democrats projecting a wrap up of the Schifft Show up by Thanksgiving?

Thanks for the post, I needed a good laugh. I have two right now that blame the Russians for everything. I should have named one Hillary and the other Schiff. I really like them though and I wouldn’t do that to a skunk. Why slander skunks?

I’ve been convinced for months now of two things.

1. The IG Report is a huge Nothing Burger. As useless as the Mueller Report. There will be nothing of consequence to report. There certainly won’t be any damaging after effects for anyone. Except maybe some low level Deep Staters who are expendable and can be written off.

2. The IG Report has been ready for release since July, 2019. The reason it is being held back is because it’s a pre-emptive strike. A weapon held over the heads of democrats who might make impeachment moves against the President. If they dare to vote for impeachment, A/G Barr will go all Scorched Earth against Democrats everywhere.

Unfortunately, since my point # 1 is valid, there is no meat in that Nothing Burger. The IG Report is nothing more than a psych move to hold the Rats in check.

You are more tuned in to the show than I am. Those names are unfamiliar to me. Wouldn't surprise me if the witnesses we have seen who oddly have not actually witnessed anything will be named. The Dems will try to claim they are named as retribution for being whistle blowers but Horowitz will be able to show that they were on his hit list long before shampeachment began.

Some will say that his is a case where justice delayed is justice denied. President Trump might prefer to see it as revenge served cold, as the saying goes.

Horowitz will almost certainly testify Dec 11.

One reason he may testify is because the report is being held up by guilty people at CIA, FBI or DOJ and or because there is legal maneuvering by people mentioned in the report using the government civil service protections on comments and corrections to report to drag out and obstruct publishing the report.

Horowitz can testify to the substance of report without disclosing classified secret information or violating and/or government employees rights to review and respond to portions of the report.

This gets the information out in the public domain to support the President in the House impeachment while the publish of report is being blocked by coup operatives gaming the system to delay issuing the final report until after it is too late and Trump is impeached

The timing also forces Pelosi and Schiffs hand

Horowitz was never going to put anyone in jail.
His specialty is whitewash.
Seems he’s got enough to cover Flimsey Grahamnesty’s role in the dossier dissemination.

“IG personnel don’t want to set a precedent of prosecuting corrupt bureaucrats.”

IG personnel won’t be prosecuting anyone, one reason being because they can’t. Inspectors General aren’t prosecutors.

US Attorneys like Durham and Huber are prosecutors, and IGs give them referrals for crimes that are uncovered during investigations. That may already have happened. They don’t have to wait on the report.

Senators to read it, digest it

A few of them might read it. Most will have their staff members read it and highlight stuff and give a synopsis.

I think we ought to delay this for two or three more Presidential terms. What’s the big rush? We have only blown seven years watching these criminal Democrats and Rinos.

I didn’t know that the holiday break began on 12/12. That is interesting. Perhaps Graham is just pulling some chains. It would be the first strategic ploy by the senate. Yes. The dems were hoping to go on holiday celebrating. It is almost imperative that the impeachment finish before the Horowitz report. These deep staters are so tied together that you almost need a family tree or a spreadsheet to connect all the players.

BTW I have read every available released testimony and opening statements. THERE IS NOTHING HERE. To even make a reaching point the words have to be conflated, twisted, omitted or “misremembered”.

Related: The MSM have been reporting that “the walls are closing in on Trump” for months, maybe years. In those exact words.

Those walls must have been a million miles apart. And the don’t seem to be getting any closer.

Trump is controlling the pace of BOTH sides of this show. Not for his benefit, but for the benefit of the entire US. Justice is coming.

:-)
