I received word from 2ndDivisionVet wife that he passed away.
I am not using his real name here out of respect but, will ping his handle and his wife can if she would like.
I didn't ask what he died from but, knowing him for better than 10 years, I knew of medical conditions and a few terrible Operations he had.
He was a wonderful human being who cared deeply for his fellow Americans and the ideals that make this country so great that people the world over want to come here and be free, live in liberty and be whoever they want
If you have ever spoke with 2ndDivisionVet, you know he was quick witted and wry.
What had always amazed me about him was not just his humor but, his ability to somehow take life in stride despite all he endured and be cheerfull.
He was amazingly resourceful in scouring the web for article we might find interesting.
Yes, 2ndDivisionVet really cared about all of us and our presence in his life gave him purpose
I really wish God had let him stay but, my thoughts are more selfish than the absolute knowledge that he is in a better place.
I hope to see him again one day.
Rest in peace and smile down on us 2ndDivisionVet
An absolute pillar of this website. We are greatly diminished today. RIP and thanks for all he did here.
Oh, no! He was one of my favorites here, if not my favorite.
This is awful news.
Oh, NO!
Prayers for comfort for his wife and all who loved him.
RIP, FRiend.
Thank you for doing this thread, Vendome.
I loved his posts and will miss him. Condolences to his wife.
Please, please tell his wife how much we loved and cherished him.
I am so sorry to read about this. I don’t know many folks on this db but I would always take the time to read his posts and threads.
God’s comfort and peace to his wife and family. Rest in peace.
prayers for the family!
Wow. No words.
My condolences to his family.
This hurts. Farewell brother, you will be missed.
May flights of Angles sing thee to thy rest. RIP
I’m sorry to hear this. I knew he had been beset with some health problems. We had chatted briefly a couple of times. He cared so very much for this country.
You remembered him nicely. Thank you for the same.
Deepest condolences to Mrs. 2ndDivisionVet and her son.
The post show scenes of the America Sniper movie were awesome. Everybody came out on bridges and roadsides to pay respect for a great man who passed.
I am not comparing, but the responses here reminded me of those final scenes. That one man, 2ndDivisionVet could so touch so many people.
The more you give. The more you get.
He gave a lot unselfishly to this group.
He helped change lives.
Well God bless him.
Checking in again, very moving to read all these posts. A wise man once told me - Let others tell you who you are. So many here feel the same way about him as I did. One person called him an epic Freeper. Very fitting. I hope this gives his dear wife and family some consolation.
Oh, my. We shared many a ping. RIP, 2dv, and our prayers are with your loved ones.
The FR Memorial Wall has been mentioned a few times. Here is a link to it. I trust 2DV will be enshrined in our history here soon. He was a pillar in our community.
This is a great loss to the Forum. So sorry to hear it. Condolences to 2DV’s family.
This is sad news indeed. I have had many online conversations with him over the years, and while there were times we disagreed, it was never uncivil, but more often, we had good conversations and I learned much from his viewpoints.
I have prayed for him to be accepted into God’s kingdom, and I have prayed for his family and friends to help them get through this difficult time.
RIP 2ndDivisionVet. Fair Winds and Following Seas to you from this Sailor.
We will miss you, FRiend.
