First lady Melania Trump says she is worried about the 'growing epidemic' of e-cigarette use among US adolescents and teens.

In a tweet on Monday afternoon, she called for action to fight 'nicotine addiction', but didn't mention any specific plans.

'I am deeply concerned about the growing epidemic of e-cigarette use in our children,' she tweeted.

'We need to do all we can to protect the public from tobacco-related disease and death, and prevent e-cigarettes from becoming an on-ramp to nicotine addiction for a generation of youth.'

There are a couple of things going on. 1. the vapor from these e-cigs contains much finer particles than in smoke, so they can penetrate deeper into tissue and more easily cross the capillary bed and go into the blood stream. 2. People are vaping things lie THC, CBD oil, and even things like heroin. 3. People are modifying the device so you get a much higher concentration of product (dabbing).

Assuming marijuana makes vaping more dangerous, doesn’t it make sense that marijuana has long term effects that are really bad?

“I am deeply concerned about the growing epidemic of e-cigarette use in our children,..”

Why thank you for your concern pretty lady but that’s ok...we’ll handle it our own way.

The casino workers are complaining.

People sit there and blow smoke without any thought of at least trying to blow it up or away from people

Sometimes I snap and blurt out... Just so you know, Lung Cancer is a bitch. Hope you enjoy your cancer.

Yeah I know... I am not nice.

I have to inhale very lightly in order not to get too much of a hit. These idiots that generate a cloud of smoke deserve what they get.

I think we are just seeing the tip of the iceberg.

Yep. The whole technology is barely 15 years old, but it's just in the last few that it's really exploded. Juul is barely three years old (and I have a 19 year-old nephew thoroughly addicted). I suspect there's going to be a huge wave of medical issues emerging.

“Aren’t most of these people vaping marijuana or other things..”

Very true. I know a major Chicago suburban high school nurse who tells me that they are putting everything under the sun in them.

So if you are just using it for nicotine and don’t modify it doesn’t it make sense that it would still make you more susceptible to cancer?

I tried them when my husband did, and I couldn’t use them. But I’ve never really inhaled; and the nicotine gum has saved me many years of smoking. It just takes some concentration for the first week or so.

I guess you wouldn’t appreciate being in a room with a group of cigar smoking men playing poker.

Yes, it can take awhile.

For example, you can smoke in your 20s and 30s. Quit. And get lung cancer in your 60s and die in 4 months after diagnosed.

But then again, you can smoke like a chimney until your are 90 and die of something else

There is no reasoning with a smoker. Also, every single ‘vaper’ I know, is also a dopehead.

I don’t think nicotine is itself a carcinogen. It does however increase blood pressure and heart rate. I think the real danger is from the trace materials in the liquid.

No poker rooms filled with smoke. I have learned that lung cancer is just a horrible way to die.

I do take a mask when I go to a casino and will use it. But that vaping thing is too much smoke everywhere.

I mainly try to go to a no smoking table

I will probably get lung cancer anyway from my gambling.

You can sit at a stoplight and tell who’s vaping. Smoke just billows out of their car windows. Anybody that doesn’t realize that amount of steam and particulates in their lungs isn’t good for them...too bad.

I can’t keep up around here.

First, stopping vaping was a slap to our freedom.

Now, because a bunch of kids are putting MUCH worse things in this before they use it, it’s a health concern??

Nah, it’s just another way for stupid kid to die.

Not a surge of illness among adult users.

But kids who are putting other drugs into it and would have likely died ffrom one overdose or another sooner than later.

It’s sad BUt it’s got nothing to do with vapes

Vapor is not steam.
