The difficulty of accurately measuring average temperatures around the globe and across the United States has helped fuel the conflicting claims regarding climate change.
Purveyors of the belief that mankind is catastrophically impacting the global climate insist it's getting warmer year by year.
But a new, improved system to assess surface temperatures established in 2005 by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, NOAA, indicates otherwise.
In fact, the U.S. Climate Reference Network -- comprised of 114 pristinely maintained temperature stations spaced relatively uniformly across the lower 48 states -- finds there has been no warming for the past 14 years at least, noted the Powerline blog.
While historically the U.S. has been considered to have the best records, surveys show that over half of the nation's weather stations do not comply with written standards, pointed out Powerline contributor John Hinderaker.

This hoax should have died a long time ago. It’s amazing to me that people still push it.
Stop global climate stasis! We’re running out of time!
Obama’s new seaside estate under water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OK, Looking for a fact based article to explain the climate debate. Not talking head stuff from Faux or CNN stuff, just climate debate for dummies. Wanting to understand the facts on both sides of argument.

Man is soooo vain.
Read the reviews at Amazon.
this report will mean nothing, because the satellite folks ‘adjusted’ the results because they claimed that ‘one of the satellites was off target’ and therefore ‘the results couldn’t be trusted’
so essentially what they did was throw out all the readings from that satellite and invent new readings- and walla walla bing bang- they got their warming-
Yes folks, that’s really how blatantly and brazenly they are lying to us now
you want facts?
1: Warming always happens first- then hundreds of years later CO2 rises- this is proven with ice core samples and other means- this means CO2 is NOT driving temperatures
2: There is nowhere near enough CO2 in the atmosphere to create a thick blanket of heat trapping CO2- the atmosphere has only got 0.00136% CO2 from man in it- 0.0036% is far too little to be causing even an iota of warming even if CO2 did cause warming- which it doesn’t
3: There are scientific reports stating that oceans have a kind of ‘turn over’ where they spew tons of CO2 out despite there being no warming of the oceans- (The oceans would need to warm to such a degree to spew CO2 that life would not thrive in such hot waters) meaning atmospheric CO2 rises in recent decades are not due to man as claimed by the alarmists- CO2 coming from the oceans is doing so via some other process than warming-
4: CO2 ppm were over 1000 ppm in the past and life still flourished- there is no ‘tipping point’ for CO2- we’re nowhere near what we were in the past- and if anything, we’re in a ‘CO2 starvation’ period
5: Check out climatedepot.org for many many scientific proofs that man isn’t causing climate change
CO2 is NOT driving temperatures- Warming ha happened for many reasons, but CO2 is not one of them
also look up the connection between sun spots and warming- that is where the warmign is coming from- you will find that info on cliamtedepot site-
one m ore point about CO2- science states that volcanoes don’t spew enough CO2 to account for the amount in atmosphere- yet they are finding out that volcano don’t release most the their CO2 during eruption, but afterwards- years later, when the volcanic ash dries out- the CO2 gets released then- creating many tons of CO2- science has underestimated the total amount of CO2 that volcanoes release-
But again, al that is moot- except to counter their arguments that the rise in atmospheric CO2 in past decades ‘must be from man’ - As the world warms from natural means, volcanic ash dries out more, releasing much more CO2- I think science is going to find many more massive sources of natural CO2- because remember, in the past, before the industrial age, levels were over 1000 ppm- it had to come fro m somewhere- and we know for a fact oceans could not have heated up enough to be the sole source or even major source of CO2 back then- life in the seas would have ceased for the seas to have become warmed enough to release that much CO2-
There are loads of facts that prove man isn’t responsible- just gotta dig a little- cliamtedepot is a great starting point- loads of peer reviewed articles there-
You should let people know about this. :-)
The informed will never win this argument. Once the data becomes too overwhelming to hide, the greenies will step up and shout that only through their drive to push change were they able to reverse the course of nature...
...and then theyll demand more money to continue the path of their success.
Writing grants now. LOL!
Meanwhile in East Tennessee, we had September in July and perhaps the coolest summer in memory
The high on Laborday will be a scorching 75
As you can imagine, the data is freely available. NASA has a page with some of the stats. Also, calculating the mass of the atmosphere is fairly straight forward. I used 4000 miles for the radius of the earth, and 15 #/sq in for the weight of the atmosphere. Both figures are close enough for proof-of-concept work. Several sites post the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere both by volume (0.04%) and mass (0.06%). But people like to be stoned and stupid and subject to the thieving carnival barkers and shills and shellmen.
Show me the money is all they want.
You have not mentioned water vapor as a contributor to global warming/cooling, but this researcher believes that it's a major contributor to the discussion.
There are many analyses on this site. Much of it is scientific, but enough of it can be absorbed by laymen to form a powerful case.
