Five Republican Senators reintroduced the WALL Act Tuesday, a bill to fully fund a wall along the U.S. southern border.
Their legislation, first introduced last December, is also the first bill that will fund the wall by identifying specific funding sources, read a Tuesday announcement from the five senators. The five are Senators are Jim Inhofe (R-OK), Mike Rounds (R-SD), John Kennedy (R-LA), Ted Cruz (R-TX), and Bill Cassidy (R-LA)

Of note: This is the first time I can recall Sen Cruz teaming up with other Senators to sponsor a bill.
He’s usually a lone grandstand.
But, credit where credit is due.

Spending bills must originate in the House. Senators should reread the Constitution. (I applaud their desire to build the wall)

You also increase the cost of I 94s from $6 to $12...use the difference for the wall. Many ways to do this.
Those that oppose the wall funding can say whatever they want, the truth is they know a wall/secure fence would be very effective, already is in areas that have it. My opinion is they receive campaign and spending money from businesses that support cheap labor express...follow the money.

This wall is only getting built thru the military at this point. Bypass the enemy (Democrats) and let’s get on with the national emergency.
To: Blue House Sue
They could have done this 6 months ago when it would pass.
Unlikely Pelosi will ever let it come for a vote.

1. He needs to be primaried, and if Bonzo the Chimp is opposing him, then Bonzo gets my vote.
2. 1/1,024 Hispanic Beat-O will be running for POTUS (well, actually, he’ll be pretending to do that, but really be running for Veep), so he won’t be on the ballot for Senator.
I do agree, however, that if Cornholio is the Republican nominee vs. ANY Dem in the General Election, then Cornholio gets my vote.

That is an illusion: you need 60 votes in the Senate to get a bill to the floor for debate, and that’s not even going to happen now, with 53 R’s (including Romney, who will be a Flake and vote against Trump at every opportunity).
This only gets resolved with a declaration of national emergency and the military building the Wall...or Trump getting destroyed in 2020 as his disappointed base stays home after having been lied to.

The bill to fund the wall for 5.7 billion that passed in the house last month is sitting in the senate waiting to be voted on. If Mitch would allow a simple 50 majority rather then a 2/3 vote on it, President Trump would have it right now. Mitch is as bad as pillalaski and shoemuller.

The current Con-gre$$ would have to at least pass it again. They (Pelosi) will not do so or pass anything with wall funding. That's why we are where we are. Point the finger at Mitch for not even attempting to deal with this before the last session expired. He may not have the votes even if he dropped the rule to 51.

All beltway theater for us unwashed rubes back. Take none of this at face value. Schumer might just allow a vote knowing it will die in the House.

No.
That is not true.
Bills do not carry over from one session to the next.

“He may not have the votes even if he dropped the rule to 51.”
Several Republican Senators publicly announced that they would vote against any effort to use the “nuclear option” (simply majority vote of 51).
Flake, Corker, Hatch, Kyl and at least one other (I forgot who) made it impossible for McConnell to push it through without enough Dems to get 60 votes.
