(snip) -- Variously described in appearance as a pair of fictional villains from a James Bond film to a modern version of the American Gothic painting, Sen. Charles Schumer and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had all the sincerity of used idea salespeople in their rebuttal to President Donald Trumps appeal to the public for support of his border security effort amid a partial government shutdown.
(snip) -- If the issue were not already, it has now become a contest of will between the president and Democrat leadership. While Trump continues to be Trump, Schumer and Pelosi on Tuesday night provided a visual impression of two funeral directors who are patient with the belief that eventually everybody will come through their doors.

That picture invokes very negative and disconcerting feelings if you look at it too long.
Their True Response - We must continue to allow criminals into our country because we cannot win political races any more without criminals voting.
Nancy, yammering, "NO", to the President, looking more like 'The Tin Man' with each passing day.
They’re just catering to a customer base where doom and gloom are in high demand.
Yes it is very disturbing. I thought that last night when I first saw them.
They have no good in mind.
As Greg Gutfeld just said: "At first I thought they were going to try and sell me a Reverse Mortgage."
Exactly .....
Picture of death and death warmed over.
It can’t be good for a political party to have its two top leaders resemble funeral directors and James Bond villains.
But will the Democrats do anything about it? Probably not. The only two Democrats known for their bravery — AOC and Rashida Tlaib — don’t care about the party and seem content to be thorns in Nancy Pelosi’s side for the time being.
I would apply that to the ENTIRE Dem party.
“That picture invokes very negative and disconcerting feelings if you look at it too long.”
I see mean old Uncle Chuck who molests children at family picnic and then Wicked Aunt Nancy who mercilessly beats them for complaining about it.
They remind me of Nicolae and Elena Ceaucesceau of Romania.
Nancy and Chucky deserve the same end.
Very heavily made up, and looking more like figures in Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum, this duo will try any “affect” they think might work-—this piece posted above comes up with the comparison, beautifully, of “two funeral directors who know that everyone will pass through their doors”, or however he put it. Here we see a deadpan lack of emotion in Schumer, who notably has “held back tears” with a catch in his throat in the past, addressing the plight of the “victims” of the travel ban. Nancy was highly scripted , also shorn of emotion,as if THIS particular issue way already way beyond her comprehension as a “moral” person, and all she could do was speak plainly (which is smart, because when she’s allowed to improvise she looks and sounds like a babbling lunatic, and continually trips herself up.
And seriously EMBARRASSING.
American Goth-ECCH!
