Rush is rightly disgusted at today's Mueller's news. SO disgusted in fact that after a caller prompted him he agreed that the word "conservative" is so useless and damaged that a "rebranding" might be a good idea.
I couldn't agree more.

If words and names can lose their meaning then its possible that words can be made to have no meaning. If this is the case then we will all be subject to every individual persons definition of reality (relativity or a great delusion) all over the emotional resentment of a word. This is so dangerous.

I agree. I am reminded of a scene from Office Space when someone suggests that the character Michael Bolton change his name if he is tired of being confused with the singer of the same name. “Why should I change? He’s the one who sucks.”

I dumped the term "conservative" once and for all during the last presidential primary season. I've also dropped the term "libertarian", since it now means potheads for flooding the country with third-world Democrat voters. And "conservative" and "libertarian" both suffer from the connotation of granting unlimited power to abuse people, as long as the abuse is outsourced to private-sector monopolies--
censorship being the current hot-topic example.

We should NOT surrender this term, or dilute its definition !The term is already diluted, that's the problem.

I disagree.
Just because a bunch of LIBERALS SAY is means something that it does not, does NOT mean we have to agree with those idiots.

If the meaning of words cange, if theyre relative, then the lefts Living Constitution is justified. Relativity is the reprobate mind and the strong delusion of the New Testament.

Yep. And we could add Paul Gottfried and Clyde Wilson to that list.
They were aware early on when the newly arrived neoconservatives began to reinvent “conservatism” to suit themselves. And in the process demonize many of those who had always been part of conservative politics. One wit said we should call ourselves reactionaries, it may have been Francis.

Ditto on all points. I'm a die hard Trump supporter who will vote for Rs as long as they support him and OUR platform. Should they reject Trump, and the illegal immigration issue, they'll become a permanent, and insignificant, minority party.

If words and names can lose their meaning then its possible that words can be made to have no meaning.
It's typical for new euphemisms to replace previous terms for touchy subjects. The nicer new names then become politically incorrect and are replaced by still newer terms. It's uncomfortable to deal with retards, so we keep changing the name for them.
