Breaking: @joyent, Gabs new hosting provider, has just pulled our hosting service. They have given us until 9am on Monday to find a solution. Gab will likely be down for weeks because of this. Working on solutions. We will never give up on defending free speech for all people.

Yep.
Same tactic just used against Life Site News: http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3700537/posts
Timed for an election.
And who else is on the list?
Please do not confuse aspects of free speech like pornography and racism as conservative values.
Hmm. Didnt seem to me they were doing that. Nobobys saying Gab is conservative. Gab is an uncolored post and comment site, I believe without any declared sociopolitical position as is FR (as Twitter and Sara ebook should be, too).
By not blocking conservative postings, theyre viewed as conservative-friendly.
A good many posters here sure dont seem very conservative...

Please provide a documented example of where and how Apple has "leaned on Gab".

This is why data centers are dying out. People need control of their intellectual property and data centers are run by notoriously liberal outfits. Physical control is much less with a hosted data center, and now the data center owners are coming out against American values like free speech.
“Still need a host though. “
No, they don’t, not if you have your own server and communications. They would be their own host.
How do you document a refusal to carry Gab's app?
Dittos!
I used gab for a while and found it tedious. If someone follows YOU, you then see what they post unless/until you mute them. Seems like every time I got on gab, I had to spend half an hour muting people because I didn’t want to look at blatant white supremacist(I hate f*&%ing n*&^ers type stuff) - Jew hate type posts(goyim memes), holocaust deniers, flat earthers or people trying to sell their youtube channel. Others I would mute simply because they post every few minutes so my feed would be 20 posts in a row from one person.
Seemed like a backwards system to me.
Still, I don’t see how they can be shut down while other services have content just as bad. It is selective.
Please look it up for yourself.
so what are the options? In house servers and T1 lines? Who runs the internet, Leftists? Arent gateways as important as servers?
Good enough?
Didn't anyone get screenshots of his posts? Nothing ever disappears completely from the Internet.
Is Thiel still involved with Paypal? I thought his political views were libertarian.

LifeSite just received an email at 8:30 p.m. EST from our web-hosting company alerting us that they will be taking our website down within 12 hours ... We received absolutely no forewarning whatsoever about this decision. The company is acting after a months-long campaign of preposterous complaints against us by Adam Flanders [convicted sex abuser]... [snip]
Never saw any porno on Gab in a year of using it.
No one uses T-1 lines anymore. We use 1, 10, or 100 Gbps fiber. A T-1 is 1/1000th that of a 1 Gbps fiber.
The basic makeup is you get a building, you stuff it with servers and software, and connect it to the Internet via a backbone company like AT&T or Comcast.
Hosting companies do the same thing but rent you server space. It is expensive. Very expensive. Cost studies show they aren’t worth it in most cases.
Now we are seeing an additional ugly side of hosting: Censorship. Hosting companies want to censor what you put on those servers you rent.
