NBC News has totally and purposely changed the point and meaning of my story about General Robert E Lee and General Ulysses Grant. Was actually a shoutout to warrior Grant and the great state in which he was born. As usual, dishonest reporting. Even mainstream media embarrassed!

They are just parroting the main stream media’s efforts to shut him down on twitter and You-tube.
They can’t slam him effectively until they silence him first.
He was not talking about Lee. The entire story was about General Grant - well, that and President Lincoln hiring the man even though he had a ‘drinking problem’.
Applicable to the Second World War for sure. But not because of the superiority of Generals but rather the blunders of the German Commander in Chief.
Never heard of that guy, care to clue us in?
Right.
An excellent example of the MSM lying and also creating “fake news.”
I heard the whole speech. NBC is throwing crap...as usual.
Wow. One of the rare moments I disagree with one of the greatest Presidents in American history. The media is incapable of being embarrassed.
At last night's rally in Richmond, KY, someone behind the President was wearing a T-shirt with Lincoln's face and that saying printed underneath.
See my post #50.
If World War Two had ended in May of 1942, Japan would have been the victor in the Pacific and half of western Russia would have been German.
a failure in everything except marriage and war.
The two things that count most.
Good theme music?
FakeNews NBC didnt even apologize in their correction tweet.
Jerks.
God be with us, or something close to that.
He dared say something positive about Lee in his story about Grant. That’s a major sin with the left.
Very arguably. Lee was one of the best generals of the war but Grant was better. As the end result showed.
But there should be nothing wrong with honoring both men.
why didn’t they just listen to wtf he was saying in the first place?
how lazy to you have to be?
I think these news outlets get DM’d and emails from leftist groups or read their twitter timeline to get their “news” without even bothering to investigate.
Yes, the Union troops gave Lee a full military salute, usually only reserved for someone of the highest honor, NEVER for defeated generals. This was due to the orders of Gen. Joshua Chamberlain of Maine.
The honor he ordered for Lee at the surrender completely scandalized the radical Republicans of the North, who wanted Lee, and all the Confederate leadership, tried, and executed for treason. Chamberlain’s heroics during the war made him a likely candidate for President—however, this move of respect for Lee killed that possibility.
Such respect was done out of admiration, of course—and, for the good of the country, in order to help begin to heal the deep wounds of the war.
Chamberlain died in 1914, from complications of a war-wound from 50 years before....and is considered the last casualty of the Civil War.
