Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Sunday said she hopes to remain on the high court for at least five more years, according to CNN.
"My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years," 85-year-old Ginsburg said at an event in New York City.
Speculation over the future of the Supreme Court has mounted in recent weeks following President Trump's nomination of Brett Kavanaugh, who would replace retiring Justice Anthony Kennedy. Kavanaugh's confirmation would sway the balance of the co

Should he say she is past her 'use by' date & go ahead & announce his pick for her successor?
What happened to plan of going to Canada if Trump won?
Inquiring minds want to know.......has Ruth Buzzey ever written a SCOTUS synopsis of a decision?
An appointment to the SCOTUS is a pretty sweet gig....all you require is a pulse, and a very weak one at that.
Mummified ping? /s
LMAO!!
it pisses me off that my taxes pays his wages making over 90 grand while I make a quarter of that, and have to work all hours, and days.
Quote from and article re California govt worker retirement. Long and lots of data but very comprehensive....
Excerpts that will make your head spin when you see the disparity.
Put another way, the average public employee retiree with 30 years of service collects a pension (not including benefits) that is 26% greater than the average pay for a non-retired full time private sector worker, and more than twice the maximum Social Security benefit.
Wait till you read this one:
And to put these pensions in perspective, the maximum Social Security benefit for someone retiring on their 66th birthday is $32,244. As shown on Table 1-B, across all 23 pension systems that we analyzed, the average pension for a retiree with 30 years of service is $68,673, more than twice as much.
Tie in how difficult it is to terminate someone and you can see why people ride this gravy train forever.....
Create a “ you need me” government , and everybody gets rewarded. The govt worker with the disparity of benefits, and the “ feed me” dependents who think they are getting “ freebies” and the cycle will never be broken....
Sure, YURI!
Does she ask question from the bench during arguments?
She is trying to hang on for the next comodim prez.
I didn’t know that photography was around that long ago. This is from around 1820, right?
I think her intent would be to hang on until the 2024 election cycle, where she would retire and not be replaced until after the "people have spoken" in Nov 2024. So 5 1/2 years would get her there. I'm not saying any prayers for her...
The old goat will have to retire someday. Hoping it is real soon.
Haven’t you heard? 85 is the new 75... so you are practically a youngster. My wife’s grandmother almost made it to 100 with no signs of dementia. She was sharp as a tack up until the day she died.
Unfortunately my maternal grandmother was out of it completely by her mid 60s; my mom started having difficulty in her mid 70s. One of my sisters is already on medication. It is largely in the genes.
Poor Ruthie, she’s nearing the time when her ticket gets punched, and Trump is going to retire her ideology to the dust bin of human civilization.
I was thinking about this the other day.
Does she write her opinions, or does she farm out these projects.
