Back in early November, we talked about the little-noted demise of two of the weekly local papers in New York City, the Gothamist and DNAinfo. At the time, I noted that it was really a sad development because papers like that have the somewhat unique ability to focus all of their time and resources on covering local news which is often drowned out amidst all the national and global stories which eat up the front pages of the bigger papers. Those two outlets broke many stories about municipal corruption and waste, as well as keeping a finger on the pulse of how New York City denizens were reacting to current events.

In other words, he dictates!!
Soviet Russia thought the same thing.
I hear the NYT is for sale....................Hmmmmm..................
AntiFada
How “Soviet” of him.
This worked very well in the Soviet Union. Everyone loved Pravda and Izvestia. Not at all surprised that de Blasio likes this idea.
Everybody hates Bill de Blasio.
Santa comes down his chimney just to kick his ass.
Great Idea. He could even name it Pravda!

And the dems claim Donald Trump wants to control the media.
Oh, the irony - oh, the hypocrisy.
The left already controls the majority of the propaganda fed to the American people.
The leftist MSM runs the newspapers (internet for dumb people). Your all set Wilhelm
Tom Hanks criticizes the mayor for his fascist sentiment in 3, 2, 1....
They could call it Pravda.
In most instances, physical newspapers are like horse drawn carriages;
something quaint and outdated, to be done on holidays or special occasions. Nothing you expect to partake in day after day.
As recently as 15 years ago, I felt very differently about newspapers.
THE ODD COUPLE---M/M DeBlob
DE BLOBBIO DESCRIBES HER AS HIS "NUMBER ONE ADVISOR" Insider buzz is that Blobbio is ruled by his wife---that the two work hand in hand to make public policy decisions. (Earlier news reports say Police Commissioner Bratton cautioned DeBlob not to bring his wife to the crucial meeting held to redress grievances of five cop unions Blobbio had slandered. Then.... boom...Bratton was ousted).
RESUME ENHANCEMENT PROGRESSIVE-STYLE During DeBlobbio's campaign, his wife Chirlane I. McCray was billed as a writer, poet, editor, communications professional, and political figure who published poetry and worked in politics for the Clintons.
THE REAL STORY Mrs DeBlobbio loudly declared her lesbianism in a magazine article---she was in a black feminist lesbian group and wrote poetry about being a lesbian. Politicker noted her husband's campaign website doesn't reference her background as an avowed lesbian and a lesbian activist or lesbian poet: It notes her affiliation with the Combahee River Collective, omitting mention of the groups lesbian roots, referencing it as "a pioneering black feminist collective."
The two met while both worked for the Dinkins campaign. She says she had a nose ring and wore African garb when he spotted her and was completely smitten. She never told him she was a lesbian. And later said after their marriage she was still attracted to women. During the mayoral campaign, she was asked about her lesbian lifestyle----she retorted she "didn't understand the question." The Blobbio's honeymooned in Communist Cuba and picked coffee beans w/ Sandinistas (then America's arch-enemies).
The New York Post ran a cartoon depicting the couple in bed, McCray on the phone telling someone, "I used to be a lesbian, but my husband, Bill de Blasio, won me over," while her husband lay beside her clad in sexy lingerie.

Investigations are needed into the slush fund called The Mayor's Fund for New York City. DeBlobbio put his wife in charge of the millions of tax dollars pouring in....what's she doing w/ all that untraceable money. Did struggling New Yorkers get any of it?
NYC Mayor: Things Might Go More Smoothly If The City Ran The Newspapers

What a great idea. They could rename the New York Times - The New York Pravda.
Will Rob “Meathead” Reiner denounce this as facism?
He was just reelected. How do you explain that? I can’t figure it out either.
