Easy. Only about 16% of eligible voters showed up to vote. That's how he won the first time and that's how he was re-elected. G-d help us all. He's already completed the transformation of the school system into a full blown dysfunctional cesspool. He is busy selling the rights to pave over any remaining green areas of the city to his masters, real estate developers. He eliminated crucial parking spaces on vital commercial streets in order to put in bike lanes that NO ONE uses. He eliminated lanes on heavily traveled thoroughfares so that buses could have the lanes to themselves. Meanwhile, the subway is a freakin' mess, with almost daily breakdowns and derailments, crimes against passengers, and ever-rising fares. The streets and highways are pocked with potholes, lack lane markings (which wore away long ago and have not been repainted), and have a large number of streetlights burned out, for years. Because of his vast overdevelopment greenlighting, it is now normal to have to hunch over your steering wheel in bumper to bumper traffic, even not in rush hour, on any of the highways around the city. It is impossible to just jump into your car and drive in a relaxed fashion, anywhere.
