A laptop computer recovered from the Las Vegas hotel room where Stephen Paddock launched the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history was missing its hard drive, depriving investigators of a potential key source of information on why he killed and maimed so many people, ABC News has learned.

I assume that this guy who was obviously tech-savvy and who did not broadcast his thoughts over social media simply dropped the hard drive in a convenient dumpster earlier in the day.

As if Paddock dragged a non-working laptop with him to the shooter’s aerie.
I’d do it using any of dozens of bootable Linux test-drive CDs that anyone can download for free. Or use regular CCTV cameras and a monitor.

IF THE LAPTOP HAD NO HARD DRIVE, WHY DID HE HAVE IT IN THE HOTEL ROOM IN THE FIRST PLACE? IT WOULD HAVE BEEN USELESS DEAD WEIGHT.................

I am beginning to side with those that think that human trafficking - children for the pedo sex trade - could be involved here. His money laundering gambling activity fits that as easily as gun running or drug running. There is something monstrous out there that made him, perhaps, go postal to start a chain reaction that brings the evil edifice down. All the Hollywood stuff and Nickelodeon stuff and all the stuff coming out now in D.C. that implicates the Podestas and the Democrat hierarchy. The Democrat enablers like Corker, Flake and McCain going ballistic. Maybe I’ve read too many Clancy or John Brown novels. But there’s something here and it’s all happening at once...started by this massacre and a very poorly covered-up investigation.
Maybe there’s too many things and they are all different. But with all this happening at once, it’s hard to not see pieces that fit.

That is a reasonable explanation.
I am bothered that is has taken weeks to hear about it. The govt blackout of meaningful information being provided only increases the distrust as potentially damaging (to their credibility)information is dribbled out.
