Students at hundreds of colleges and universities are being systematically indoctrinated into the New Civics of social justice activism, according to a report released this past week by the National Association of Scholars.
The reports findings suggest that the suppression of free speech on college campuses that is making headlines is only the tip of a very large iceberg. What lies beneath the surface is a massive, publicly funded program of indoctrination through a remaking of the curriculum as a vehicle for advancing the political agenda of progressivism.

This is news now? Where has everyone been for decades as the hippies indoctrinated our children? Sheesh.
They need those degrees in “ainchent feminist issues in today’s society” for something, now don’t they.
Later
Why aren't most of this generation rebelling against their indoctrinators?
Especially when they are being fed such a line of obvious total crap?
Interesting question. My take: The Boomers rebelled in the 60's because of so much prosperity by the Greatest Generation after WWII. Their children, Generation X, rebelled because of the teachings of the Boomers in our institutions about socialism and freebies. The Millenials just took the ideology of free stuff further - witness their support for Sanders (socialist/communist), and decided not to rebel, but embrace.
Robert Bork wrote a book about why the 60's boomers started our down slide - "Slouching Towards Gomorrah". It's old, but clearly articulates how and why our loss of moral standards started to fail our society in the 1960's. You can extrapolate from there as I did above.
My hope is that these students 20 years from now see the government taking their money and wake up and start using their community organizing tactics against the progressive state.

1. We don’t have 20 years.
2. Experience tells me that these people grow up and expect their money to be taken. Ergo all the q-tips marching in various protests.

Unfortunately, violence, oppression and fear will be the tools needed to maintain this new “social justice” being designed by the “want-to-be” dictators who now mostly run our colleges and universities. The world they are shaping will be Godless and devoid of the truths of human nature. Once in place, “love thy neighbor and true diversity” will be gone. Raw power without values will rule and situation ethics will be the law. War will be a constant reality with bloodshed everywhere as people decide that freedom is worth giving one’s life for once again. America which has been the grand freedom experiment will be over. What or who will take it’s place is unknown. Now is the time for those who want truth and real justice for all to stand, regardless of what that means. Begin with drug tests for all those in authority over us, especially the American press and college professors. We know Hollywood is drug infested and consider the source when they rant against morality and values. But, those with legislative, news giving, and judicial power need to account for functioning frontal lobes in order to prove that they are not acting through their “lizard” brains when they do their jobs. Because of my profession, I know the drug culture inside and out and I am telling all who read this that it is highly influential in the sad state of affairs we hear about every day of our lives in our own environments, on our televisions and through our other news sources. When small town America has 9 overdoses in a day and four times that one the weekend, one can only imagine how besotted the masses are who do not come to that kind of attention. I believe substance abuse might the most serious problem we face in this country. Is there any power out there who will face it and clean it up? I say, begin with and identify the users. If they have positions in authority over others, replace them with those who have functioning frontal lobes until such time as they can function and reason from a normal state.
A lot of it is “Don’t bite the hand that feeds you.”
Today’s kids are more dependent than any previous generation. For multiple reasons. They have been coddled and indulged by parents. Many are still living at home into their late 20s or beyond. Some can’t afford to move out because rents are high and some because they can’t find decent jobs. But many are just lazy and prefer to mooch. One woman in her mid-twenties told me she was one of only 2 people under 30 at her company who was not living with parents. She said the other 20-somethings were living large since they didn’t have to pay rent.
The dependency of the young is further encouraged by the nanny state. Kids might rebel against parents - that’s easy - but rebelling against the government which feeds you and controls you is much more difficult. It’s also much more difficult when “all the other kids” are doing it (complying with the government).
In schools, if you fail to parrot the (progressive) party line, you get graded down or failed. Students learn to go along to get along.
Another big factor is that the progressives, via schools and the media, have managed to redirect the natural rebellion of students into issues like gay rights, racism, islamophobia. All the youthful outrage that would normally be directed at meaningful issues or personal issues is now channelled on behalf of the progressives into areas that further weaken the fabric of our society.
This fits with my own experience in dealing with (admittedly few, by choice) young people of immediate post college age. They are predominately very left wing and rigid in their worldview whereas younger people in their mid-20’s who have gone into the trades aren’t.
True to our hiring practices, our preference almost always goes to the non-college educated.

I kept asking the same question, until I realized they are rebelling by going even further left. So far left that administrators keep having to resign for basically being white.
It has been going down for decades. This is the diversity maggots attacking whites for their accomplishments and hard work. These courses are also easy pass courses for those students that have no business in higher education and they are populated predominately by Africans. The new affirmative action courses and degree programs.
Professional grievance mongers. Ha!
The 21st Century Axis of Evil...the media, entertainment, academia.
Until the last decade, California had laws against Communists serving as teachers and also laws against the preaching of sedition in schools.
Democrats repealed all that. Wonder who the Rats align with politically these days...
Maybe it was because I was an older student, but I never experienced this. Nor did I see it in any classes I took. I found students lazy, disengaged, poor writers, and even worse readers. I know, when have students not been like this? When I got a degree 25 years ago, I saw all that, but when I went back to school to get another degree it was more evident.
And when students did disagree or wanted to make points, their arguments were often poorly presented. I was fortunate to have teachers who wanted students to disagree, to debate, to express their viewpoints. But it was a challenge to get meaningful class participation.
