Cramer explains Trump's behavior towards China: He thinks we're already in a trade war! Cramer explains Trump's behavior towards China: He thinks we're already in a trade war! 11 Hours Ago | 03:02

Jim Cramer explained President-elect Donald Trump's behavior towards China by clarifying that he does not want a trade war.

"It is that he believes we are already in a trade war, one that the Chinese are waging against us. And it's not that he wants to retaliate — it's that he wants to win," the "Mad Money" host said.

Trump believes that the Chinese have had their way with the U.S. endlessly, Cramer said. It's as if the U.S. are "lapdogs" who are willing to let them take away U.S. manufacturing jobs and don't put up a fight.

And while Trump wants to protect U.S. manufacturing jobs, Cramer thinks he doesn't care about the business that U.S. companies already do in China.

Would somebody please buy this fool a vowel? China has been in a trade war with us for over 30 years.

Cramer is right about DJT and DJT is right about China.

I’m wondering. Does Cramer, that financial guru, think that we’re NOT in a trade war with China, one that we’re losing?

The ambiguity is in the definition of ‘We’. For Cramer, ‘We’ are the traders who are making a fortune building stuff in an unregulated inhumane distant land then burning fossil fuels transporting the merchandise to foreign lands for sale.

For Trump supporters, the ‘We’ is the Americans who used to make these things and the American consumers who are buying lead painted toys, formaldehyde treated flooring, defective air bags, and exploding batteries.

Cramer’s ‘We’ is happy to exploit Asian labor and environment and American workers and consumers to line their pockets even if they have to pay tribute to the Bushes and Clintons along the way.

Trump’s ‘We’ has had enough of this. We are going to Make America Great Again whether or not Cramer’s ‘We’ likes it.

We are and have been for the past 40 years.

These people really do live in a bubble.

I think Cramer is okay here.

However, this did give me a chuckle:
“Cramer believes the Chinese wouldn’t have seized a U.S. drone before the election of Trump. It seems as though the Chinese don’t know how to handle him, aside from calling Trump names in its state-run newspapers.”

Listen, Chucklehead: The Chinese probably wouldn’t have:

They forced our EP-3E down in 2001 and held our men hostage for 9 days.

To ensure we saw the exclamation Mark they intended to deliver, they handed our plane back in pieces.

Stole our drone in 2016, kept it for a few days, to see what’s inside.

In 2016 they intercepted a U.S. Air Force RC-135 twice.

They made Obama wait on the Tarmac and refused to provide a ladder of steps to the plane, a standard gesture of hospitality at the least , forced the President of the United States of America to exit the rear of the plane

While they pulled this act of aggression toward AF1, they were engaged in another international incident, refusing to let our press pull cover the the president from standard views.

They have had their warships intercept ours in international waters and lock their “Fore Control “ on to one or more of our ships.

Once again, they challenged our ships the Cowpens and Impeccable, in one instance the Chinese even maneuvered a boat directly into the path of the Cowpens, with only 500 yards between them, forcing the Cowpens to take avoidance actions.

In 2015 and once again in international waters the Chinese targeted one our submarines.

So, the fact is we have been in a trade war for at least two decades and minor military skirmishes as well.

China is a Frenemy.

You are forgetting that China was an ally and a safe haven for fliers downed while on missions against Japan. Remember Chiang Kai-shek?

http://www.history.com/topics/chiang-kai-shek

He was ousted to Taiwan in the communist revolution of 1946. That was 70 years ago. For most of the next 40 years, China was ruled by Mao and the country was horribly impoverished and not a real player in the economic world. Used for its size as a communist satellite by the Russians as a Cold War ally, they began its own military much like North Korea is doing today under the wing of China. Upon his death in 1976, the country went through all sorts of turmoil until a regime found its footing. Then realizing it had to compete in the world, the transition started and its current war with the US economy and commerce began in earnest, not to mention to political one that was already on.

Can someone explain that to the AFL-CIO, the EPA, EEOC, OSHA and the “When in doubt, raise taxes” crowd in Congress, Academia & the Press?

“Build a better mousetrap and the world will beat a path to your door.”

Tariffs and protectionism are not the answer.

I watched the entire clip and Cramer is conflicted. He doesn't know what Trump will do about trade with china and it makes him nervous.

What makes him really worry, is that Trump doesn't worship at the alter of globuuulism but instead wants to put America First.

Tariffs and protectionism are not the answer.

Not the whole answer, but can be a part of the solution.

China has taxes and tariffs on our goods and we have none on them...free, fair trade, or one way trade?

Tariffs are the answer for *right now*, until ‘free’ trade is restored.

Jim Cramer is an over hyped ass.

The difference between extreme competition and a mild trade war are semantics. He sells crap and the crappier the better

Build a better mousetrap and the Chinese will violate our intellectual property rights and put the inventor out of business.
I was a machinist (non union) and watched the company I worked for go broke when the US Government refused to stop the importation of products that violated our patent rights.
