White and Christian voters are abandoning the Democratic Party, according to a remarkable new analysis of political party demographics.
The Pew Research Center found that there is now a 29-point white gap, the largest ever between the GOP and Democrats.
According to the new analysis, "non-Hispanic whites make up 57 percent of all Democratic and Democratic-leaning registered voters, down significantly from 76 percent in 1992. By contrast, though the share of GOP voters who are white also has declined since 1992, the change has been much more modest: Currently, 86 percent of Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters are non-Hispanic whites, compared with 93 percent in 1992. As a result of these changes, the 17-percentage-point gap between the share of white voters in the Republican and Democratic parties seen in 1992 has grown to a 29-point gap today."
Ditto for Christian voters, with the share of atheists and other religiously unaffiliated voters nearly tripling in the Democratic Party.
Said Pew, "The pace of change in religious affiliation has been far faster among Democratic than Republican voters, resulting in a widening gap between the two parties in the shares who do not affiliate with a religion. In 1996, just 10 percent of Democratic voters were religiously unaffiliated; today that share has nearly tripled to 29 percent. Among Republican and Republican-leaning registered voters, the share not affiliating with a religion has increased from 6 percent to 12 percent over the past two decades."
On the positive side for the Democrats, that party is getting younger and smarter.
"A greater proportion of Democrats than Republicans now have a college degree or more education," said Pew, adding, "The Republican Party – once more youthful than the Democratic Party – has aged rapidly over the past 24 years."

This is a harbinger of things to come. The “Population Replacement Program” will have its desired effect when Whites become the minority.
Then all hell will break loose.....

Who votes by color anymore? Or ethnicity? African Americans are nothing but a vote to dems. I dont see affluent white dems moving into poorer neighborhoods to help.
They just kick the minorities out and with all their money, triple the housing prices and double the rent. Then preach liberalism and fake sympathies.

Long before whites become a minority, there won't be enough white tax payers to support the welfare state.
This description (white, Christian) fits me and my wife. We remain Dems by registration, but we are proud DINOs. Two reasons: it helps us to have a say in county politics (as most offices are held by good ol’ AZ country bumpkin, salt-of-the-earth people (supervisors, court officials, sheriff’s officials, etc); while the Republican opponents usually run unopposed in the primary only to lose in the general.
Second reason is that in our debates with libs, where we hold forth for conservatism, and they say “You’re only saying that because you’re a Republican”! And we can say, “Nope, I’ll bet we’ve been Dems longer than you have”. I like being enigmatic.
Third reason is that, the more we look at the Republican party, the less we like it — witness this year’s election cycle where they’ve been exposed as posers.
I’ve also been a FReeper longer than just about anybody else on here, with few exceptions.

What’s remarkable about it? The Democrats have practically been at war with both for decades.
The “younger and smarter” professionals I work with have almost no idea of what is actually going on in the country or the rest of the world. They get tidbits of “news” from the CBC - Communist Broadcasting Corporation - but spend 95% of their off-work hours watching Netflix.

Then why couldn’t the Dems find any candidate under 65?Their 2 choices: crackpot Bernie Sanders & ailing Hillary Clinton. The Republican party, in contrast, had a list of younger, virile candidates.
My prediction: the “young & smart” crowd will drift away from both parties altogether. They are so amoral & individualistic that they have no national loyalty. Witness that NFL guy who refused to stand for the flag — everyone got into the act & started imitating him. These “smart” people will follow whatever seems cool & fashionable.
Eventually they’ll die out. There is no such thing as a 4th-generation liberal.
Correction! And I hate to burst anyone’s bubble. But there are no Christians in the RAT party. They might call themselves Christian, but they’re only deceiving themselves. I can call my truck a jet plane, but it won’t fly.
