I think being paid for social programs kept them there. How can any Christian be with the abortion party anyway?
NO Christians, Catholics or Protestants, can be for abortion. If they are, they CEASE to be Christians. KILLING God's youngest and most innocent creatures? I would think that it might anger our good Lord.
