Corey Lewandowski to Head Up Trump VP Search
Gateway Pundit ^ | May 10, 2016 | Jim Hoft

Donald Trump Campaign Manager Corey Lewandowski, who was falsely accused of assault and battery by attention-seeking hoaxer Michelle Fields in March, will head up Donald Trump’s VP search.

The Hill reported: "Donald Trump’s controversial campaign manager will helm the presumptive GOP nominee’s running mate search, the Washington Post reported Tuesday.

Corey Lewandowski will lead the campaign’s vetting of prospective vice presidential candidates, a process the Post says will “ramp up” shortly.

Ben Carson, who ended his own presidential bid earlier this year, has confirmed previously that he will be on the search committee as well.

Carson has so far muddied the waters in interviews about what Trump is looking for in a running mate. He previously told The Wall Street Journal that Trump could consider a Democrat, before Trump ruled out that prospect the next day".

No...There are new and different jobs to be done now. This is one of them.

Corey is loyal and diverse....everything is "team" in the Trump world...just like "The Apprentice".

It will be someone like Newt....if not Newt himself.

Newt, Huckabee, West, Sessions. No affirmative action picks or inexperience!

No, Newt would not be the guy in eight years and that IS the criteria. (Plus Newt doesn’t want it IMO.)

Newt actually said he would be “hard-pressed” to turn down the offer (my wording) but the stipulations of a future President would almost certainly rule him out. I would love to see Newt involved in a substantial way, he commented earlier this week ... or maybe last week; how being on the outside has helped him to understand the problems the country is facing when he couldn’t see them from Washington.

I think Newt is in his best element right now when he is in a key advisory role and is actually listened to.

Someone like Newt, yes - smart, intelligent, but NOT a career politician - preferably someone from outside government who has no problem drastically slashing the size of the mostly unconstitutional $4 trillion government.

Trump should step aside and promote Cory to the presumptive nominee. Anything else is a demotion. /s..

I’m not picking on Corey. But it looks to me like Manafort is now icalling the shots. So this seems like a good move by Trump.

Correct me if I’m wrong.

I suppose that Trump could decide right now to pick someone like Carly Fiornia as his VP running mate. However before he does that I would suggest he sew up 1237 committed delegates first.

Its probably in addition to Corey’s other duties. It does not seem like a full-time job.

But, but, but, I thought our Canadian had already “played on the bus” with Carly....right?

Very few VP's via an election ever become president...5 in 250 years. It's just not what happens. Don't think of a VP as doing the next 8 years. It'ssimply not a consideration.

Trump will figure it out and it will be a seasoned politician LIKE Newt with a strong loyalty to him and the party.
