NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. As Donald Trump looks poised for victory in New York, he continues to lead with Republican voters on this side of the Hudson as well, according to the latest Rutgers-Eagleton Poll.
Breaking the 50-percent mark in New Jersey for the first time since announcing his candidacy last summer, Trump was named by 52 percent of registered Republican voters as their first choice if they had to cast their primary vote today.
Ohio Gov. John Kasich has ascended to a distant second in the Garden State, with 24 percent. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz comes in third at 18 percent, though support for the senator grew here in the days following his Wisconsin primary win.

Where in NJ? Seems as if you grew up in Mo’Town. I’m in Hackettstown, grew up in Wood-Ridge. Work in Morristown now, right off Mt. Kemble.
Lonegan is a tool. If anyone knows how to lose elections in NJ, it’s him. Be happy he’s supporting Cruz. Funny thing is the NJ GOP consistently pisses all over Lonegan yet he’s ending up supporting the GOPe candidate in this race.
Lyin’ Ted, with the bible held up high in one hand!
The worm has turned on Lyin’ Ted.
He is a Dead Ender.
A June 7th state. All 51 delegates going to Trump.
They cant win Colorado at this point and they can’t lose any of Ted’s brokeback mountain states.
Don’t be so sure...
“Two states that no Republican will win n in November are NY and NJ. So I dont think they should have much input on who our nominee is.”
Well then, maybe the RNC will disqualify all delegates from those states.
Sanders is ABSOLUTELY the more dangerous candidate. He has no choice to be because Hillary is the worst candidate ever to run for President.
In seriousness though, Sanders eat-the-rich populism masking his socialism will play well. The fact that he’s an absolute true believer will give him the ring of authenticity. People will vote for him just because they think he’s being honest about what he says.
We (should) want a knock down, drag out fight between Hillary and Bernie during which she has to resort to dirty tricks and wins, thus alienating Bernie’s core voters.

Yes, that’s why I hope Sanders cleans her clock tomorrow in New York. The more Sanders pounds her, the better it will be for Trump in the General I don’t think she’s really healthy, so the more stress that Sanders puts her under, the better. Plus I think Sanders voters will not rush to Hillary in the General. Say hello to President Trump!
3rd would be much nicer!
of course you’re right but that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t get to vote in the primaries, as this person was insinuating!
You don’t know that and by just putting t5hese states in plahy, will make the Dem candidate spend money that he or she normally wouldn’t. It’s a win win situation and Trump just MIGHT win both states in November; something no other GOP candidate can do.
But it’s the RULES.. there’s RULES ABOUT THE RULES THAT RULE OVER US.
You Cruzlims are hysterical trying to make sure any state that actually votes is discounted or marginalized. Shady backroom deals only are now allowed to protect the establishment Cruzade.
You come off as the exact complete total opposite of brilliant. But I Love irony so ululate on with your nonsense.
1st - primary, 2nd - general election...what’s the 3rd time?
2020. he’s not that old :)
Oh right! LOL, you’ve come a long way in this primary, dp ;)
Enjoy the vote.
What states that Romney lost in 2012 would Cruz be able to win in 2016?
Florida for one.
