Based on Current Situation=> Ted Cruz Will Be Knocked Out of Race By April 26th
GP ^ | 04/02/16 | Jim Hoft

Posted on 04/02/2016 11:20:48 PM PDT by Enlightened1

Based on current delegate counts and poll numbers Ted Cruz will be mathematically unable to reach the delegate count required for him to win the Republican Presidential nomination.

By the end April it will be clear that Ted Cruz has no chance of reaching the 1,237 delegates needed to win the nomination.

Actually in only 3 weeks, on April 26th, it will be clear that Ted Cruz cannot win.

Rep Del Count 4-3

(chart from Google)

Currently Cruz has only 463 delegates. Even if Cruz wins Wisconsin, which is a state whose delegates are winner take most (WTM), he still will not have enough delegates to win the election by April 26th.

This is in part because New York is leaning heavily towards Trump who leads according to polls listed at Real Clear Politics by as much as 36%. New York has a Republican primary where the delegates are split proportionally. So even if Cruz wins a third of the delegates, it won’t be enough. This is because come April 26th, there are five Republican Presidential primaries and three of these are winner take all (WTA). All three of these states are in the East where polls show Trump leading (Maryland and Pennsylvania) or there is no polling available with the state highly likely leaning towards Trump (Delaware). Even if Cruz wins a third of the delegates in Rhode Island or Connecticut or any of these states, it will not be enough to keep him mathematically in the race.

Funny you claiming that a conservative solicitor general and senator is establishment but a Manhattan billionaire tycoon is anti-establishment. Pretzel logic.

Lie?

Trump has publicly claimed to be an atheist and pro-”choice”. I’m not sure what you see as funny about that.

“I guess if I was a hard core Cruz supporter and hated Trump with a passion, I’d be hanging on to him too though...”

It’s possible, but many Cruz supporters have abandoned him, after having studied his record, and having watched the man’s actions over the last nine months or so.

I’m one of those myself. Ted spooked me when he essentially voted to support ObamaTrade, then totally lost me when he voted for the heinous Corker amendment.

In the meantime, Trump earned my trust by speaking my language on the campaign trail. He’s also got the requisite executive experience and the sort of courage I’m looking for in a president.

Ted Cruz is not a conservative. That’s a load of hype that doesn’t match his actual record, which is rock solid establishment.

But you know that, and you come in here and shill for the Bushbot anyway. You’ve joined the good ole boys club, and it shows.

Trump hasn't claimed to be an atheist; you lie like a rug.

Trump has changed his mind about abortion;. just as Reagan did.

OTOH, Teddy Cruz has lied about many thing and recently done so.

Let’s just see how these primaries go and do the honorable thing when the results are clear, eh? In other words, if Trump gets the requisite number of delegates to win on the first vote, let’s back him as the candidate 100%. If, on the other hand, Cruz somehow pulls this out number wise, then let’s give him unconditional support as the nominee. What we should be doing—both sides—is planning to prevent a GOPe end around on the nominee, should someone get the magic number of delegates.

First the 1237 rule can easily be changed by the Republican Establishment.

But it won't be changed; you should now that. The majority rules, a concept that has been in place since the first convention. Indeed, ever since the Declaration of Independence...

Second, I don’t see how VOIDING the WILL the of the Republican voters...

The will of Republican voters will not be expressed until one candidate achieves a majority. C'mon now, it's fatuous to assert that a mere plurality represents "the will of the voters".

If The Donald arrives at the convention with 1237 delegates in tow, you've got nothing to worry about. If he doesn't...

You make a good point. What if neither of our guys wins the necessary 1,237 votes on the first ballot? In that case, let the political wrangling begin. Sadly, I think there’s a strong probability that both Trump and Cruz will be denied the nomination in that case. Never, ever underestimate the GOPe!

I can only speak for myself, but, I will not NOW or EVER vote or support that lying, cheating, ineligible Canadian to be president. You are wasting your breath. He’s the 4th Bush and his record and endorsements prove it.

I wish they could get this right-—Trump, after Missouri’s delegates were awarded has 754.

And so, when and if it becomes clear that Trump won’t reach 1237 either, I suppose he has to drop out too? And then there will be no candidates left in the race. And the delegates can do whatever they want.

If that’s the case then it is the Cruzers who are delusional: NO convention will allow Cruz to win, so he is just as mean and stupid as the GOPe for throwing in with the establishment. My inclination to dump Cruz a year ago was correct.

>>Trump is a dirt bag and he is going to start treating you like a poor sap as soon as he wins. He will present his boot to you for licking upon winning the nomination.<<

Are you implying that Trump is just another politician like the herd of liars, thieves and perverts down in Versailles on the Potomac? That’s just plain silly, bless your little heart.

"At this point, no Cruz supporter seriously expects him to walk into the convention with 1,237. It’s all about Donald not getting to 1,237 and the resultant open convention."

And therein lies the intellectual dishonesty of both the Cruzlims and the GOPe. Primaries are supposed to be about voting for the person you support most, and letting the best man win, then rallying around that person. In the case of the GOPe, this primary has become about a full court press to stop the one candidate that threatens their slop trough. They have no, "best man," and would be perfectly happy to see Hillary inaugurated in January. The Tedsters run the gamut in their reasons for supporting Cruz. Some do legitimately believe he is the best candidate and more power to them. They should vote for him and if he comes out on top, everybody should rally around him. Having said that, Ted is garnering more and more support of those in the Stop Trump at all costs movement and of course Ted and his true believers are happy to get their support even if it costs their souls to do so.
