This week, in the Utah nominating caucus, I will vote for Senator Ted Cruz.
Today, there is a contest between Trumpism and Republicanism. Through the calculated statements of its leader, Trumpism has become associated with racism, misogyny, bigotry, xenophobia, vulgarity and, most recently, threats and violence. I am repulsed by each and every one of these.
The only path that remains to nominate a Republican rather than Mr. Trump is to have an open convention. At this stage, the only way we can reach an open convention is for Senator Cruz to be successful in as many of the remaining nominating elections as possible.
I like Governor John Kasich. I have campaigned with him. He has a solid record as governor. I would have voted for him in Ohio. But a vote for Governor Kasich in future contests makes it extremely likely that Trumpism would prevail.
I will vote for Senator Cruz and I encourage others to do so as well, so that we can have an open convention and nominate a Republican.

“Trump talks of Romney as failed yet Romney has gone further than Trump in pursuit of the nomination he actually obtained it.”
???
That is the best you can come up with?
1 hour in and the first Cruz Cuck simping for Romney pops up.
Oooooh you really nailed Trump there for having the nerve to criticize Ted’s new sugar daddy.
I’ll be looking forward to hear Rush put his spin on this. How many times have we heard Rush say: “The Establishment hates Trump, but they hate Cruz so much more because he is so inflexible, so consistently conservative, such an honorable man.”
Except when it comes to voting, then he knows how to lay his ears back and crawl up to the Establishment’s trough like the reliable insider he has always been.
I was four “ouches” short!! :-)
Mitt the Mutt.
Cruz wouldn’t. He thanked Romney.

Because he appreciates their willingness to eat crow?
In any event, Cruz an the establishment now share the same short-term objective -- holding Trump short of a majority.
If it was you in his position, what would you have done?
In terms of long-term objectives, though, they remain 180 degrees opposed.
Kiss of Death.
In the short term, extraordinarily essential.
Utah is voting in caucuses Tuesday night and so is Arizona.
Mitt got 90 percent of the vote the last time a primary was held in Utah for the obvious reason.
If Ted breaks 50 percent he wins all 40 delegates.
There is also a large Mormon minority in Arizona.
I don’t have to agree with Mitt Romney on things and Mitt and his father have been militantly anti-Conservative in the part, but the endorsement is fine with me.
I don’t hate Trump, I won’t hate Mitt either.
This is part of “the buyout” to stop Cruz from considering a VP slot.
That way they can have their brokered (broken) convention.
What price did you have to pay Ted? Did you put yourself before your country?
More proof that the establishment really hates Ted Cruz.
Gelul!
Actually, if you read the statement, Romney didn’t endorse Cruz - he is asking people to vote for Cruz to force an open convention.
That is kind of a ‘get out’ slapdown to Kasich.
Lindsey will be holding a fund raiser for Ted on Monday night. Given all the vile and filthy things Graham said about Cruz, it appears that the Texas senator will lie down in bed with ANYONE as long as there's money piled high under the mattress.
If all this doesn't say something about Cruz's character, nothing will.
You can just surmise who Graham's donors are and you'll be correct....McManiacs, lobbyists and RINO PACS who are lining up at Graham's command to throw big money at Cruz....and Cruz will then be in Graham's and the donors' vice-like grasp forever.

“Because he appreciates their willingness to eat crow?”
BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
WOW...
I give that spin 2/10.
Right. It's an insultus maximumus.
I will be watching.
Its time for real things to happen and real things to change.
Romney must stand aside and really support Ted with no backstabbing.
Rubio and Kasich must bend their knees as well.
Ted leads and they follow or else. The compromise and retreat always has been wrong and its stops now.
Trump has tapped into an anger that demands real action and real change from the GOP or else.
Trump has given them the ‘smackdown’ they deserve, I have no apologies for that.
