Former Speaker John Boehner endorsed Paul Ryan for president today – the day after Donald Trump won 4 of 5 states in Super Tuesday 2.0.
The elites don’t give a damn about the Republican base and this is more proof.
The Politico reported:
Former Speaker John Boehner said Paul Ryan should be the Republican nominee for president if the party fails to choose a candidate on the first ballot.
“If we don’t have a nominee who can win on the first ballot, I’m for none of the above,” Boehner said at the Futures Industry Association conference here. “They all had a chance to win. None of them won. So I’m for none of the above. I’m for Paul Ryan to be our nominee.”
Wading into the GOP nominating battle for the first time since leaving office last fall, Boehner said that “anybody can be nominated” at the convention in Cleveland this summer.
Boehner, who now splits his time between Florida, Ohio and D.C., had long whispered to friends that he believes Ryan could be the party’s political savior if it came to that.
But Boehner never said it publicly until now.

I said Ryan too and that Romney is only acting as the attack dog and running interference for Ryan. I do think Cruz knows that goal and he is only trying to keep Trump from gaining enough delegates. Cruz is a good little cartel member.

So just so I understand, Bobby Jindal wasn’t allowed on the debate stage and neither was Rick Santorum because apparently they didn’t have enough support but Paul Ryan can be given the nomination with even less support and having skipped all the debates and all of the elections. GOP is a dead party. If Trump is not the nominee I would prefer it were Hillary because at least she stood before the people.

You forgot that once before and got in trouble for it.
If Ryan forgets that, he will suffer your fate.
Boehner and the GOPe had best be careful for what they wish.
Back dooring the primary and giving Ryan the nomination would (not could) destroy the GOP (period).

I will only support the Republican nominee if it’s decided by the people running.
Meaning 1237 delegates. Ok they win.
If a contested convention then the top people can wrangle with the bottom people to try and get 1237. So Trump can make Kasich his VP to get to 1237 or Cruz or whoever agrees. Same with Cruz. If it’s decided in a backroom and they hand the nomination to someone a large part of the republican voters didn’t vote for...I’m out. 3rd party is the only way to go. And who knows maybe that’s best. Let the GOP destroy itself. Send them to the democrat party (that will splinter them as the uber-left won’t like the moderate left Republicans). So then we end up with 4 parties.
