Rank and File Republicans Tell Party Elites: We’re Sticking With Donald Trump
New York Times ^ | MARCH 4, 2016

Posted on 03/05/2016 7:41:31 AM PST by VitacoreVision

From Michigan to Louisiana to California on Friday, rank-and-file Republicans expressed mystification, dismissal and contempt regarding the instructions that their party's most high-profile leaders were urgently handing down to them: Reject and defeat Donald J. Trump.

Their angry reactions, in the 24 hours since Mitt Romney and John McCain urged millions of voters to cooperate in a grand strategy to undermine Mr. Trump's candidacy, have captured the seemingly inexorable force of a movement that still puzzles the Republican elite and now threatens to unravel the party they hold dear.

In interviews, even lifelong Republicans who cast a ballot for Mr. Romney four years ago rebelled against his message and plan. "I personally am disgusted by it -- I think it's disgraceful," said Lola Butler, 71, a retiree from Mandeville, La., who voted for Mr. Romney in 2012. "You're telling me who to vote for and who not to vote for? Please."

"There's nothing short of Trump shooting my daughter in the street and my grandchildren -- there is nothing and nobody that's going to dissuade me from voting for Trump," Ms. Butler said.

Hillary very well might win no matter if it is Trump or Cruz on the other side.

But ... either way a great deal will have been accomplished towards getting rid of the status quo elites ... in both parties.

It is not about just this one election or one candidate.

I don’t like Trump, but I HATE these elites telling me how to vote, and why I’m stupid if I don’t do what they say and how we can’t win unless we listen to them (2x losers).

All this from the same people court conservatives when they need to get elected then disdain the afterwards and then give Obama everything he wants.

They are too stupid to realize the more they talk down to us the more they are pushing people towards Trump.

And they forgot not long after the founding of this country that they’re supposed to be our public servants, not our elite overlords.

My fear is Donald popped in to protect the status quo from Cruz.Whenever we have a potential real change agent they must be defeated or destroyed. My fear is if Donald gets in things mainly stay the same.

That would be my take on it too. However, God will put into office whoever He chooses. If America really is under judgment (and 8 years of Obama makes me thinks so) we will get Hillary, or maybe Trump is the one and Republicans have fallen prey to his act. We will see.

You are right about NH. Cruz is much too conservative. America is a liberal nation. In fact, it has the reputation of being the great satan, projects itself as being immoral, sells immorality and abominations, so why expect anything else?

Those satanic footholds of the past have lead to the cliff into the bottomless pit where the leader of lies will soon emerge.

Well said.

And McCain, and McConnell, and Barbour, and the rest of the GOPe politicians-where was all this aggression and fire when we needed them to just do what they campaigned on doing, and oppose Hussein and the left’s agenda? They didn’t even put up token resistance to it, they acted more like it was their own agenda and supported it wholeheartedly. Which leads me back to my belief that the GOP is riddled with leftist infiltrators, and the ones who aren’t that, don’t care because they’re only their for their own ambition and enrichment. When have they ever shown any spine and willingness to do whatever it takes to win? Only when they’re opposing real conservatives, like Chris McDaniel in Mississippi. But when it’s someone like Hussein, who stands for everything they tell us they oppose on our behalf, they say things like “We have nothing to fear from an Obama presidency”.

They can love it all they like, as they ignore that the same thing is happening on their side of the political equation with Shillary and The Bern.

Oh, they have their own internecine war going on, it's just that most will never hear of it because the leftist lapdog lackey media is intently ignoring it.

McCain was so afraid of offending the middle and the so-called “moderates”, that he practically all but said “Vote for Obama, he’d be at least as good a president as I would be”. And all the white guilt voters took him at his word.

Opposition to Trump seems to be based completely on emotional reactions to hysterical perceptions.

Great article!

The GOP is no longer a conservative Party, it is an elitist, globalist one.

And what do you think a President is going to do against immorality?

Funny how the information about Romney & Ryan already having filed papers with the FEC on Jan 30, 2016, to run for President & VP of the USA this year still are NOT part of the story.........

How long before the media tells us more of the story???

Reagan was NBC. Cruz? Un-uh.”””

Neither is Rubio. Rubio’s parents got their citizenship papers in 1975.....

Rubio was born here in 1971...

Rubio is an anchor baby-—NOT NBC.....

Going to court in Broward County this coming Friday at 11 AM.

Both Cruz & Rubio are being challenged on their NBC status.

Wonder if Romney & Ryan know this & think they can step in & grab all the delegates of these 2 if they get declared not eligible????

t’s almost a certainty that ROMNEY is playing the “beard” for Paul Ryan, who is the cutsey kid from Leave It to Beaver, but is Open Borders and North American Union all the way.

Beware of Paul Ryan. One of the Three Young Guns, Eric Cantor, Kevin McCarthy and Paul Ryan.

Two down and Ryan “to go”.”””

Ronmey & Ryan filed papers on Jan 30,2016 with the REC to run for President & VP of the USA this year.

Funny how they are keeping this hidden from us-—35 days later.......

I say we must burn down the republican party to save it for “We the People”...

A similar description: "Republican voters are calling for fire on their own position."
